Well thats what I want, and I'm sure I will find a few hundred people wanting it to back up my thoughts. I can see the post now: "Who wants a league that you can trade in but also has increased drop rates and is like hardcore but lets you die 5 times? Vote on this poll!" I bet I can get at least 300 people to vote yes on that. So why cant GGG give me that? Everyone has their own playstyles and everyone would love their own personal server, but its not likely. Then my defense for why GGG should take time and money out of their budget to put this in is because it doesnt effect you. Sound familiar?
Just a reminder that I dont really want that server, I was just trying to make a point that at what point do we say there is enough servers or do we just keep on making more and more unique rule set servers to satisfy the tons of different ideas people think this game should use.
I don't think a SFL is some niche idea dude, or are you new?
If you (or whomever) ever felt strongly about the concept of a die-up-to-5-times league then I suggest you do like I did: pay for a poll and see what responses you get. I'm quietly confident you won't get the same support for it as we ave seen with the SFL (and for a long time now).

Maybe don't trade, if you don't want to trade and just play? It's not like anybody is forcing you to do anything, trading is an option. Of course it takes more time to find everything by yourself, but if selffound is what you want to play, you have to deal with the consequences.
I play pretty much selffound, only trading away the items that I don't want to vendor (and I managed to build up a lvl 78 map pool). Why would I care what other people do when playing self-found is already doable?
Also, having too many seperate leagues would hurt the game imo, as noone wants to play in leagues that are inhabited by very few people, making you feel like playing in a wasteland.
Edit: THere's one addition I would really appreciate though: having a way to purchase Chaos Orbs from vendors. I don't mean the recipe, but something like buying a Chaos Orb with 3 Orbs of Alchemy (as an example).

SFL people dont want to just not trade though, that has become quite clear. They can as mentioned countless times play SF if they so choose. There is a different agenda behind all this SFL talk.

Basically you are saying that Hardcore is nonsense, because you can play softcore and if you die, you just delete your character?
Doesnt make sense to me.
If a SFL comes I will hit the "create character in self found league" so hard, that I will need to buy a new keyboard!
When I play selffound, I want to show off my 6 linked whatever unique and not just indicate: "Look I have an awesome item but maybe I got it from flipping items and abusing noobs"
PS.: The point of a selffound league is putting MEANING to this playstyle.
If you play selffound in the current default league you are nothing but a moneyless scrub actually...

Well, if they make a SFL and dont increase the drop rates than nothing really changes. You will also be a moneyless scrub, just surrounded by other moneyless scrubs. As I have said before, the only reason I could see to put it in is so you have a ladder to compare yourself to other SF players. This could be a checkbox option at character creation which is much easier to put in then a whole new league. If you want higher drop rates to make a SFL easier than you are kind of bypassing the whole point to a SFL, which is to play a way that is harder and so is more rewarding. Its why I used the example I did about the Hardcore league with modifications.

I would definitely try a self found league at some point.

The difference between the current leagues and adding another is that the current leagues already exist. They have already decided they wanted them and they have already done the work to have them up and running. Removal of them would be idiotic at this point. Not to mention the fact that they use those leagues to sort of beta test things before putting them into the standard leagues. Creating a whole new server with adjusted drop rates would be a solid amount of work to start up.

Well GGG did say we would be able to own/rent are own custom leagues in the "future" so that everyone can be pleased.....
Sadly now it feels like they have $.$ and "future" now means "when the game is dead"

That's the point. No "money", no currency. There is no "poor", there's only playing, grinding, farming and progressing. You can call us "scrubs" all day long, but there are a lot of us, and it's not a lot of work that needs to be done to keep all of us playing. Just some fine tuning.
We can ALL agree on this: The easiest way to get gear, is by trading. Trading is EASY! So NEVER look at a SFL as an easier option.
I'm not a huge fan of a SFL myself. I think the reason why people want it, is because of flaws in the game - and the REALLY poor state of standard league, with RMT and legacy items all over.
I'm more fan of a check-box option. At character creation - in every league - you get the option to chack-mark you charcter as a "self found character". You will not be able to trade or pick up loot that is not alloctated to you. As trading is the BEST and EASIEST way to get loot, you are compensated for this, by SLIGHTLY better drop rates. Trading will STILL be easiest way to progress.
There - a solution. Players who like to trade, can trade as much as they like. Players who don't like to trade, don't have to. And best of all; No new league needed. Why is this a bad ieda?
Sometimes, just sometimes, you should really consider adapting to the world, instead of demanding that the world adapts to you. Last edited by Phrazz#3529 on Apr 16, 2014, 4:17:56 PM

Not self found at all.
