Great guide to start!

How come one of your claws has only one gems?

How much do you estimate this build would cost in Ambush?

Caracass only helps with aoe dmg? If i single target piety, i wouldn't really need caracass?

Post a video of you mapping high lvl map with mf gear please! If i commit to this build, it will be every cent i own..like to see how it works out on maps.

I have posted a new video of a Rare level 71 map with boss and exile kill with full MF gear :)

Could have posted the whole map clear video but the play style is pretty much the same so I thought 7 mins is a good time to cut it. Hope you enjoy !!

I am playing in ambush and I can tell you first hand it's not that bad. Here's a quick check. This is what I bought:

Spoiler

2exa

3exa

Bought this for 19chaos (3 slots) and 5linked it myself (bad decision) but you would be better off buying a 5link, it costs 2-3 exa at the moment.

Other than that I only bought the 20/20 gems which you don't need.

When I started using this build I bought a Tabula Rasa for 2 ex, it makes an insane difference once you have the gems. What I did was Dual Strike / Melee Splash / Added Fire / Faster Attacks / Multistrike / Melee Physical in Tabula. Insane amount of damage at low levels.

If you are just starting and can't afford a Tabula, I would use a 4link with Dual Strike / Melee Splash / Multistrike / Faster Attacks or feel free to try the combinations but I like my attacks fast.

Then at 60 I put on an Abyssus (can buy it for 10c) and got to 25K DPS, easily farm Docks and 66 maps till level 70 but you need to be aware of the +physical damage you get from Abyssus. Your choice if you want to play it safe.

Next step is to buy an armor. Could be anything basically. You do not need Carcass Jack and it is VERY hard to get the right colours on it for this build (3 red off + 2green /+blue on 6link). The only thing it does (which I admit is quite cool (literally) is it has a larger range of AOE for your Melee Splash (and with Hatred you can freeze a lot of monsters as Ninedeadeyes does).

If you want to go that way I have a 5Link 6slot RRRGB+B Carcass Jack for sale for 3exa, which is the cheapest 5Link in Ambush and it has the right colours for a 5Link version of the build.

Otherwise feel free to use any armor, preferably Evasion based. Or if you want some more DPS, do it like I did and go for Abyssus.

I also tried Bringer of Rain, but the DPS was lower than with Abyssus and Lightning Coil, so if you want more DPS, read on.

When you have enough to buy a 5link Lightning Coil (take out melee phyisical gem), stack up on Lightning Resist and get Vaal Pact and 20+ Life Leech, you will only die in the following cases:
- You get 1shot (I took more life nodes than the original build and have every item give me 70-90 life except for Abyssus)
- You get some DOT like chaos, fire, bleeding etc. and you can't negate it or don't have pots.
- Desynch

Otherwise I am easily doing level 74 maps by myself on Ambush, no boss or Rouge Exile has been a problem so far (not even full Physical damage ones). I Will keep you posted, I'm going for the crit nodes now and will try to get a 6Link Lightning Coil so I can put either Melee Physical back or a Power Charge on Crit.

Oh and I, too, switched Whirling Blades to Flicker Strike + Power Charge on Crit + Increased Crit Strikes.

Hope this helps. If you have any questions about the build on Ambush, PM me.

Cheers.

UPDATE 1: Put the Life Leech to a little stress test. I can leech about 1600-2200 life / sec (of course that is calculated from my tooltip DPS which can be affected by lots of things) which means my 4000 HP comes back almost immediately if I can hit something or more mobs at the same time. So I went to test the "no-defense" version... I did not expect this.

Abyssus + Tabula Rasa (meaning I don't have any defense or life from my Body Armor) and I also get the + 44% physical damage from Abyssus, I could take down Carnage (the lvl71 Colonnade Map boss) who I think does the most Physical DPS that I know around this level. I did not fully face tank him, when I saw him attack, I used Whirling Blades a couple times to try to avoid it. He died pretty fast. In Tabula I used Dual Strike / Melee Splash / Added Fire / Faster Attacks / Multistrike / Power Charge on Crit.

With a little skill (I'm not that good a player) and no desynchs you can probably do most of the content in Tabula Rasa, too it seems. Of course there is no point, but if you want a 6linked main attack, here it is. I am level 75 now, DPS ranging from 18K - 27K depending on whether I use Hatred and have power charges or not.

I did a Twinned (two unique bosses) Dark Forest Map just now, was much easier than Carnage I may have had to use a potion once. This keeps getting better and better. Thanks a lot for the build :)

@MoonlightThief YOUR POST IS AWSOME! I had to put it in a spoiler or else it'll go on two pages :)

Thanks for all the feedback! I've been fortunate enough to drop a windripper and soul taker in the past two weeks so i have a little bit of funds to play with. Here is my IIR gear so far doing 12k dps. Still have 29ex in the bank :) - although kind of weak on resistances

Will upgrade the low dps claw and get some better gloves when i get home. I'm greedy so i might keep the goldwrym. Who doesn't like +quantity. I will also purchase diviniation flask for some EXTRA EXTRA IIR/IIQ

Will keep everyone update on my progress - if anyone wants to sell me high end iir gear in ambush, pm me!

gear

Thanks!
Hey guys, I've bought the claw ninedeadeyes was selling here so now I have one bloodseeker around. If anyone would like to buy it for 2ex, reach me in game: HiddenUniverse

Thanks! This is my DPS character because my first was a budget Ranger (worked well but only 15K single target is not enough for end-game) and my second is a full MF dual totem Templar (455/69 MF at the moment) and I'm a bit tired of dominus split runs and culling. Didn't really like CoC builds so much but I found this quite interesting and tweaked it a bit.

You were pretty lucky with your drops :D Also that 4 OFF 6L Carcass is insane!

Good luck. Pop me a friend request and I'll look around for IIR gear. I might have some left.
Moon light theif Kudos !! :) I've added what I can to the build guide with your information but it is getting quite messy now with so many variation and ideas of my build so I just basically added a short section in the review and where lightening coil is mentioned. ( Gear guide )

lol, did not know it was you .. Just thought it was some random guy, hopefully it serves you well :)

To be honest I don't think you need a stronger claw than 250 physical dps claw ( or there about ) seriously 300 physical dps claws cost easily 7 or 8 times as much but only benefit a bit more.

Quite true. I think you should not spend more than 2-4 exas on each claw depending on their DPS and extra mods. You can buy very good ones for this price, while the ones over 300 DPS are insanely priced from 7-40 exas.

Generally 7ex to 10ex is a very good price for 290 to 300dps claws whilst anything over 15ex you really want to make sure everything else is maxed out before buying.

Last time I checked on standard there were some insane 400 to 500 dps mirrored for like a zillion ex, lol

Thanks for a great guide! I made it to 49 without any greater problems (Vaal with 25% lightning resist posed a bit of a problem), but at 49 in Crematorium my dear Shadow, ntdyrfugt bit the dust.

Gear at time of death:

Definitely gonna try this again, it was so much fun while it lasted! For those curious, here's how stuff went down. I'm gonna start keeping a bleed removal flask with me from now on.

Thanks for the compliment !! Its good to get some feedback from someone who's tried it on hardcore :)

Yeah sorry about the death, when I play I make sure I have one of each

Anti shock, burn, free, anti curse and anti bleed :)

Just wondering if mana upkeep was ok ? From the vid you seem to be struggling a little. When I levelled a chracter for the progression section I found that I needed by

wurm belt and pincher gloves as well as mana leech passive node to maintain my Mana

A good skill to use to escape is 'Whirling blade and faster attack'. It is also pretty
good at dodging stuff too. If it is cool with you I'm going to put your quote in my review section :)
