It's funny how the most casual-friendly build at the moment (searing bond + flameblast) becomes a new exile.

In a game that encourages build diversity, you think you wouldn't see two or three searing bond newbs each group. It especially sucks when you have multiple in a group and their damage doesn't stack. I would rather have any other build in my group than a second searing bond.

Easy skill is easy. It should be nerfed even further. I guess I enjoy a challenge...

There's no doubt that diversity suffered this league as a result of what Searing and Flameblast can do. I don't think it's a noob issue, it's an issue that the skills are so strong compared to so many others with very little investment. Searing Bond + Increased Burning immediately does enough damage to carry you to merciless without any further investment. Flameblast with a few supports can one shot bosses, again not needing much in the way of nodes and great. Like a lot of other people I used the build not because I'm a noob, but because early league with little resources you can instantly have something so strong. I used it to farm up early league currency for the build I actually want to play. I definitely felt a bit dirty while doing so, knowing literally anyone can do the same thing easily, and also the searing/flameblast gameplay style is not the most exciting. Why do melee mobs run into the Searing Bond totems? They should target the owner! You can set a searing totem into a room and the mobs will obediently put themselves on the totem and perish.

I completely agree they should be nerfed further, I've got the impression that maintaining build diversity is the main strategy that GGG has when balancing gear and skills, but at the moment this build has definitely slipped through the net. I don't quite know what happened with Searing Bond, GGG normally use such a fine touch when making adjustments to balance. When they improved the damage by 400% and simultaneously let you scale the skill with all fire and elemental damage nodes, they boosted the skill by a factor of 10 or 20! In a game where surviving long enough to get rich is the main aim, I don't blame people for choosing this build at all.
I want those scion footprints.
I've been playing since beginning of OB> I was excited for Rogue Exiles when they came in anarchy.

I gotta say, unless their drops get buffed? I would rather you not bother with them. yay.... 2 alterations worth of junk... What a waste.

I had hopes that as I got further in mapping, they would end up getting better. No. They still just explode in a worthless wall of crap drops.

But then, This is coming from the guy who has seen so many artisan boxes drop nothing but scraps and whets that I dropped 5+ Scraps on this

Every time I fused it, and still have

after the 50 ish fuses that it took to get it 5L.

So... RNGezus hates me when it comes to drops, and links.
when he uses leap slam does he get to desync too or is that just us?
Pacific (GMT -8) Time
96Th!
In Wraeclast, if someone tries to kill you... you just kill them right back.
I bet the "very agile Scion who uses Spectral Throw, Vaal Spectral Throw, Projectile Weakness and Leap Slam" doesn't have to obtain souls for her fucking Vaal Spectral Throw.
It's worth noting that +2 maps are a dangerous thing.
They can cause players to get out of their depth -
playing maps that are too hard for the items they currently have. Herp Derp.
I'm guessing the scion doesn't need any "souls" to power her VST..

Why don't Exiles play by the same rules?

I agree, expect I don't think they should nerf SB, but they should buff other skills. I've played SB templar in Invasion up to Act 2 merci, zero passive invested into its dps and only had it linked to inc.burning. It just melted opponents.

And then take my Ambush character which is now in mid Cruel, and is struggling with Fireball-LMP-Fire Pen-Conc.effect. Playing this character is boring, it's pain in the ass. SB templar on invasion, as much as I dislike casting totems, was still more fun.

No mod action. Business as usual.

Tell me about it! Evocata Apocalypsa (mage witch invader) who does 2x vaal fireball + 2x vall spark TOTEMS each 5 seconds.

GGG may need our tears to oil their gears or something, because they gave us vaal skills with soul requirements whereas NPC can spam them.

E.: GG for new exiles. wonder how many will they introduce. HC leagues beware!
