Invasion ruined game for me.
" I don't see how you can say I did "nothing of the sort" and then quote the exact part where I did exactly that. I said expressing a negative opinion is fine. But suggesting that the game is destroyed because you don't like it is bad. That is literally giving my opinion on how his feedback could have been presented better. This isn't debatable. You are welcome to disagree with my opinion of this poorly constructed feedback. If you think it's a quality post, that's fine.. but it's not. Waste of time and each reply keeps a low quality thread at the top. I'm done here. Bye now. " ... to let them know the game isn’t going to be very fair from here on out."

I appreciate most of the replies. Some less serious than others.
I apologize very much to the person who apparently read one of my sentences very literal: I forgot to add a "for me" in that particular line. I hope that with this apology I can save your day from what (judging from your comments) seem to have been ruined by my insensitive description of your favorite league. I don't say this because I RIPped a lot. I did on Nemesis too - didn't bother me. I loathes Storm Heralds - but they were all part of making the game great for me. I actually think that the Invasion bosses are great - I just don't like the fact that they spawn on every single map. As was mentioned earlier - I think that they should have a chance of spawning. That'd be preferable for me. To the person who was so nice to translate my post into: "I RIP = I leave" - I hope you understand that you aren't even remotely close to the truth. I actually like most of the invasion concept - except the dominating presence it has. For me it has removed focused from the gameplay I like to a very mundane 'dodge-the-boss' gameplay - and I see why people think that's great - and I would never suggest to take it away. But what I do suggest is tone it down a little bit. We are in the feedback section, so I think I am entitled to give my opinion - just as you are entitled to give your opinion. (On this note, I would say: I'd prefer if your opinion is extreme in a "flame flame, cussword, flame" kind of way - that you don't give your opinion) I know that the league is only for a period, and I will most likely come back to the game once it's over. To the person who said that I was looking for regular HC, I somewhat agree. I would love to play in a new HC league compared to the current Invasion league - but I am also looking for the 'clean slate' aspect - and I can't have that in regular HC. Besides I really enjoy the twists that both Nemesis and Invasion have - only to me it seems less of a 'twist' and more of a 'core' in the new league, which disappoints me. Edit: I forgot to comment on the negative attitude: I didn't start out having a negative attitude to the league. I actually looked forward to it as a child for Christmas. But the more I played, the more I felt disconnected with the turn the new league had taken. My negative attitude grew, and finally I came to the conclusion to stop playing for now - or as you diplomatically said it: To GTFO And to please Xendran: I write here a couple of endings to sentences, that you are welcome to put in, if you feel like I might express more than my own opinion: [...in my opinion], [...for me], [...is what I believe], and finally [...if it was up to me] Last edited by TheDanishElf#4276 on Mar 19, 2014, 6:03:18 PM

I'm noticing many different people and accounts voicing their displeasure about the new invasion league, some productive, some not.
Yet I see the same people and accounts poo-pooing them. Pretty obvious, you know who you are... I'm the Ps guy: Psomm, Pso, Psong, pso-on and pso-phorth.

I like invasion, having more monster variety is nice. Though I really don't think many of the bosses are balanced at all, and they don't offer any more reward than the random uniques you meet.
And I'd still like to know how that Vaal Metalsmith somehow ONE-SHOTTED ME. I don't suppose we can get an instant replay feature? 600+ points of damage in Cruel difficulty is just...cruel. |

" Interestingly there are a lot of people complaining. And there are a lot of people then saying "Actually I enjoy it a lot, I think its great" What we have learnt -> Those who play invasion fall into two categories. They like the overtuned potential death factor. Or they dislike it. |

I don't play hardcore so maybe my input is useless, but unlike softcore leagues that can try whatever new features they please, including the strongboxes that arguably make the game easier (although in high maps they can get dangerous), the point of hardcore leagues seems to always be "more hardcore" than regular hardcore. There will never be a 4 month hardcore league that is less "hardcore" than the permanent hardcore league.
That being said if you like poe but don't like the league features themselves, you can play regular hardcore. If regular hardcore is too dead for you then you can play softcore (it is the exact same after all, minus the death factor). Quitting a game you want to play as some cheezy protest to a game feature you don't like is kind of childish and likely to fall on deaf ears. |

" +100 to this pretty much what it comes down to it. |

"This doesn't mean you couldn't create a new hardcore character with a fresh slate. You could have just created one in Hardcore league — that is, the permanent one — which now feels a little like the old Nemesis league, except less Nemesis mods and more corrupted areas. So this talk of Invasion ruining the game for you, causing you to quit, is just... well, it's silly. You've set a completely arbitrary restriction on yourself that either you enjoy the new temporary hardcore league, or you quit playing PoE compeltely. That's a false dichotomy, and your entire "I quit" rant is based on a false premise. Now, if you had instead said "Invasion doesn't do anything for me" and "I quit trying to play Invasion, even though I was really pumped for it," then... yeah, that's good feedback. Furthermore, you're definitely not alone in that sentiment. When Stephen Colbert was killed by HYDRA's Project Insight in 2014, the comedy world lost a hero. Since his life model decoy isn't up to the task, please do not mistake my performance as political discussion. I'm just doing what Steve would have wanted. " I approve this post for using proper English, using logic, and being respectful to others and honest to themselves. They nailed every point. There is no arguing with this individual. Give them an award and end this thread. |
