Well I kinda ruined my priorities in levelling, I went for the aura cluster instead of EB -.-
Also, I didn't think it was a good idea to get MoM early when I only have 700 mana with 400 of it reserved.. this is with reduced mana and the aura cluster, I only have 70 mana regen as well.

Should I just refund the entire aura cluster and take MoM anyway?



Your mana problem is a symptom of not taking EB. Take them both.

Alright, thanks. I'll do that and see how it works out. Just one more question, I don't really have much ES, is the ES that is converted to mana affected by the +#% increased maximum mana nodes?
will the passive tree change with 1.2 ?

There is a new passive node "Battle Rouse", provides 3% damage taken gained as mana when hit.

How about take this passive with MoM?
is it better as Ci or life based for the next league ?

and are there some good uniques that fit in the build ?

Wait and see if this spec is still viable. CI and life both have their perks, CI being that you can have a huge ES pool but downside you need Vaal Pact and life you can run AA and MoM.

Good uniques are Carcass, Rise, Doryani's, etc..

I did some numbers assuming 0% fire res mobs and that they ignite. Moreover, I only considered extra damage from the passive tree alone (so, if any gem or item adds something, the better the damage).

CI
With an Exalton's DD build mockup, I have:

Stats:
8% increased area damage
90% increased elemental damage
44% increased fire damage
75% increased burning damage

Hence, damage dealt is:
Detonation damage = 19.36% of detonated body HP.
Burning damage (after 4 seconds) = 47.85% of detonated body HP.
Total = 67.21% of detonated body HP.

That is, going naked and not considering any extra from gems you'll need 3 casts + burn to kill mobs with the same .



Life,
With a Fite's DD build mockup, I have:

Stats:
20% increased area damage
62% increased elemental damage
58% increased fire damage
75% increased burning damage (note: picking "breath of flames" you get 5% extra ignite chance)
71% increased DoT damage
40% increased ignite duration (so, it lasts 4.8 seconds)

Hence, damage dealt is:
Detonation damage = 19.2% of detonated body HP.
Burning damage (after 4.8 seconds) = 78.7% of detonated body HP.
Total = 97.9% of detonated body HP.

So, two blast needed.



Life,
With another Fite's DD build mockup, I have:

Stats:
20% increased area damage
62% increased elemental damage
99% increased fire damage (not considering the 2% penetration from tree)
75% increased burning damage
71% increased DoT damage

Hence, damage dealt is:
Detonation damage = 22.48% of detonated body HP.
Burning damage (after 4 seconds) = 73.19% of detonated body HP.
Total = 95.67% of detonated body HP.

Again, two blast needed.



Those values are "floor" values at 0% fire res. Maybe with carcass, doryani, flammability, and something else you get to kill them at first blast (even with CI mockup).


EDIT: Patch notes say that flat damage will be also fire damage, instead of physical. Assuming prepatch numbers (note: patch notes say they will also increase that flat damage), average damage at lvl20 is around 100. Again, with the same assumptions as above calculations, it adds something between 700~1300 fire and burn damage.
