You can level this build as freezing pulse or spectral throw. I did a mix of both actually =)

Required Uniques
Romira's Banquet - Makes it possible to bypass CD on cold snap
Berek's Grip - Life and Mana leech (not ACTUALLY required)
Taryn's Shiver - Damage + freeze chance and extra dmg for party
The Taming - Extra freeze chance

In order to bypass cooldown on Cold Snap, you need to use power charges. Romira's combined with Resolute technique allows you to always have a power charge available. Berek's grip is nice for the dual leech (if you are shock stacking with added lightning gem)

I'm playing a Cold Snap build, a bit different from you, but I honestly can't see how that staff beats stuff like:

The +2 Level for AA and Frostbite is amazing, in my experience. Life is about 3800, going for more Life next, and with a few gear upgrades can get up to 5000 or so. This thing can freeze most rares even without Proliferation, and most bosses up to 76s alone.

When not solo, I use Proliferation instead of Faster Casting.

First of all thanks,this build look very interesting.
I am currently leveling a char in Ambush with this spec(level 45atm), and because it's not an hardcore league i was looking for more DPS.
I've changed your tree for this one at the cost of aura nodes and hp so i apologize if i have butchered your tree for dps purpose for a build you planned for group support :D

I've planned it for level 84 wich is the usual level i reach with my chars.

I consider using Taryn's Shiver as a weapon and carcass jack as an armor,the rest will be Romira's banquet and usual Armor/ES Life resist and mana regen items.

Can somebody please update passive tree for this build?

Just a rough sketch, could use some fine tuning. Obviously you can drop whatever life/aura/dmg nodes you want to make it a reasonable amount of points, that tree is just to show you your options.
