Do you ever make stupid builds?

 I've made some pretty stupid glass cannon builds. Right now I have a summoner witch that while I went all over the passive tree to get the max on skeletons, zombies, and spectres, that means I have under 2000 life for the end game maps. I finished Merciless before PoE 1.0.0 with her so I'm sure if I tried do a Dominus run I'd die dozens of times even with the 1.0.6 buffs. The fact that I am up to level 71 is pretty remarkable for my glass summoner (I have to run away from all magic or higher creatures). On the other hand it is super fun to have 8 zombies, 12 skeletons, and 2 spectres all going crazy and then launching a firestorm from afar.

Farm for a Boots of Ullr and (if you're not CI) a Midnight Bargain. The extra spectres are well worth it. Map-viable up to 73,self-found, before I got bored and Anarchy started.

Of course, you can still make this a very stupid build by using Arc instead of Firestorm. You instantly become short on mana and DPS while losing the ability to hit things if they don't have unobstructed line-of-sight to you. Plus as a bonus you don't benefit from Flammability curse boosting exploding minion damage.
I've tried it twice now... the really dumb move is trying it without a high-quality Arc to start with.

Dual barrage totem scion. Still not done leveling it. Because barrage is absolutely horrible and so is the build. Obv barrage would be OP if it would be a good stand alone skill. So my build was doomed to fail.

I have an EK Marauder. Kind of stupid.

My 1 week build this time around was going to be IB, until I realized that without being rich in the league and without using a LL gem, it wasnt working well (why isn't warlords mark simply melee damage rather than phys attack?). So now I have a spectral throw Templar. Troll face.

dual lightning warp totem in nemesis

damage was actually very high but the ai on those totems is terrible :/

I love making glass cannons - especially in Standard/Anarchy/Domination - and enjoy nuking a few mobs, then getting 1-shot by a white.

lol all the time. a consequence of never planning out your build and flying by the seat of your pants. I have erased countless characters that get into maps and cant hold their own. I think my first character i ever made was so bad he coulndt finish act 3 merc without being carried.
Its all part of the fun for me though. I dont get attached to characters and i dont see it as a wase of time as long as i am having fun do it(thats the point of video games after all, to have fun something people forget i think)

believe it or not maras used to be great for a tanky FP build

I'm making an arc build right now. That's apparently pretty stupid.

A Cast when Stunned build that I want to try eventually. 3-4 CwS gems linked to many different elemental spells.

A Dual Brightbeak CoC build. Would likely fail catastrophically.

I have more stupid builds planned than I have time for.

Zero survivability, barely any damage... but man, was that ranger fast!

I think people used to make builds like that for chest running in places like Fellshrine to get currency.

I thought I saved a build like that I wanted to try, but I couldn't find it. It was based around me and two totems spamming barrage with Fending and Knockback.

It seemed to me like that sword's only real use would be off-hand on a build that only attacks with the main hand, such as a Double Strike build.
