That background löoks like Lady Dalia is going rampage.

The story of the expansion details the existence of an orb empire obsessed with crafting.
This civilization's greatest scientist set out to craft the swaggist sword, consuming thousands of experimental orbs in the process. When the sword was complete, his civilization exploded.

Before that, was the flask empire. They too fell to their own hubris.
