Microtransaction Farm Flagging Idea
" Stash tabs do offer an advantage. The more you can horde, the more you can farm. This is an advantage believe it or not. |

" No its not. You can just have mules or a mule account. |

I SUPPORT THIS IDEA +1,000,000!
However, IF this idea does get implemented, please make these graphic effects, sounds, etc. only show up for the local player, not globally for everyone you party with. Like someone else said, this idea is no more P2W than players being able to stash away more items than others, which is indeed an advantage without muling, and without taking up Character Slot space. I agree it could be a Microtransaction, but I wouldn't recommend for long-term since this would REALLY be an awesome first impression default feature to see in PoE, a feature not yet seen (I think) in any other ARPG to-date. I like this idea so much that I'm thinking of making a UI mock-up image of what a flagging items feature would look like (buttons and all) if it were a default game feature. When game developers ignore the criticism that would improve their game, the game fails. Just because a game receives a great amount of praise vs. only a small amount of criticism does not mean to call it a day and make a foolish misplaced assumption that it is perfect. " Yeah, you can have mules or accounts, but it comes at a cost: character slot space in which too many mules can force players into having to buy extra Character Slots. Oh, gods. This again.
extra tabs is not p2w because there is a free workaround (multiple accounts). If there is no free workaround for a mtx ingame advantage then is it p2w. thus the OP's (very good, btw) suggestion would be p2w if it was a mtx since there would be no way for the same thing to be achieved without paying. I, too, would like item drop notifications.
Long, long ago, there was a third-party program for Diablo 2 called zPickit. While the primary role of this program was to automatically pickup items, you could also configure the program to instead only output item drop notifications (e.g., uniques, rares, whites, specific items) to the game client. I still remember that program because of that feature. I can definitely see how notifications would be tremendously useful in Path of Exile, especially for those of us who Flicker Strike across maps, hoping the desync monster doesn't spawn. On a tangentially related note, I'd like to see item drops in the Client.txt log. |
