Before I begin, I should point out I'm a rather slow player. "Pokey packrat" would probably be a good way to describe it: I grab more drops than I probably should, and have to force myself to run through zones without stopping when speed is of the essence. I am learning, however...

I'm rather pleased with my performance in this race so far, and my progress as a player in general. This is only the second time I've fought Dominus, and the difference wasn't night and day, so much as high noon at the equator vs. spelunking.

My first attempt was with a really glass cannon melee shadow, constructed before I realized how central life and resist passives were; something like 643 life and 800 or so evasion when he took on Dominus. That's good for about twenty deaths before taking him down.

This time around? Trapper Shadow, 916 life, 311 ES, 1148 EV, max lightning resist and other two element resists in the mid-forties.

So far this character has died exactly once, against 2nd form Dominus, with Dominus' health at less than 50%. Now that's progress.

Sorry if this seems a bit spammy; I'm just very pleased with my progress. Back to your regularly scheduled programming...

Hi there,

I must say I have a lot of fun in this softcore race. I hope they will make again one like this in the future.
Don't missunderstand me here, I don't want that all the race become sofcore, I just want one softcore once again in the next season.I think if all the race would become sofcore it would be really boring, but 1 or 2 in a season is really cool !

First unique I dropped was this one :-)

So let's continue now !

cya
Ok GGG i know i should roll Fist warrior

Fun so far
That feeling when your race character surpasses a character that you have been playing and farming for 2 months :|

Hehe i know that feeling, just found a 6link chest while mapping. I dont even have one on my main char at domination XD

Gz on your find ;-)
Doubt I'm getting to endgame. Just got to merc yesterday, but then again thats the furthest I've ever gotten before. I always struggle with gear. When all the resists drop so drastically it's harder to stay alive.

Getting 5 and 6L items seems like a far off dream, only got 2 4 links or something, and that has been severely capping my potential damage output. Also reduced mana is insanely hard to get your hands on, especially when you don't have much currency beside 2 pretty useless unique items.

In Act 3 Cruel. Died five times so far this race.

The first was to Normal Dominus, second form.

All four of the rest were in Act 3 Cruel.

The second came at Solaris Level 2 when I was a bit too much of a cowboy attempting to get a shrine so the monsters couldn't have it. (I think it was an Arc shrine, but they all run together after a while.)

The third and fourth were both in the Library; one to blue Colossal Bonestalkers, and the other being a shrine-stoned cowboy again.

The fifth was against Piety.

All that's left is the Sceptre and Dominus.

Level 54, 75% to level 55. This is the highest level character I have to date.

I swapped out the hybrid flask and the third health flask for the jade and granite flasks after I died to Piety, in order to finish the fight.

I recall a post by NotRegret where he was soloing the entirety of Nemesis using only magic gear (no rares, no uniques), and he remarked upon how it seemed to him that there was a significant difficulty spike in Act 3 Cruel relative to the rest of Cruel. I'm inclined to agree, from what I'm seeing.

I'm really enjoying this race; I hope GGG does another one like this next season. :D
