[1.2] Oldschool, cheap and noobfriendly "Sword&Board" Marauder
Currently (Level45) I use:
Cleave + Melee physical Damage + Added Fire Damage + Blood Magic I'm levelling a Dual Strike Gem (and Splash, of course), but as long as it isn't 20q (gaining 80% crit chance), I prefer Cleave. I actually like this skill quite a bit, as it is an AoE attack, you don't have to be precise on your targeting, you just have to click in the general direction of monsters. And unlike Groundslam (with the shitty new animation), it still feels like being "melee". Once I start using "Crit weapons" like Daggers, Claws, Sceptres, I will switch to Dual Strike as they cannot be used with Cleave. I'm saving up currency, only used a couple of Alchs on Rustic Sashes (if it's good, wear it, if it's bad, use for crafting recipe). Masters: Currently invited Armor Master and Lore Master, I want to get the Assassin, but he has only shown up once so far. Slightly non-related, but it should help. Join #global 820, it's a channel for reporting when you find a Master, and grouping for them. In few hours I got Caterina, Haku and Vorici to lvl 4. Good thing is also there's no off-topic spam in that channel and after I RIPed on Haku quest, I'll never do any of those alone again on Cruel+
Anyway, I ditched RT and swapped around some nodes, I think they are roughly the same as path to RT, except crapload of HP % more. I also ditched Reave+Multi cause I feel it puts me in too much trouble when trying to avoid spells, animation lasts too long, so I'll be using Molten Strike (got to lvl55 yesterday before I RIPed). Sidenote, I had 2700 DPS and 2600hp with not-so-good gear on lv55. With all that said, you got any suggestions for my tree, Molten Strike supports, auras I should run (doing your prev suggestions, Hatred, Grace, Determ etc)? In your tree, I would personally remove the flask and 15% resist nodes in Marauder, as well as the last 10% damage node after strong arm and the +30 Int node.
Then I'd grab Mana flows (Duelist) and Primal Spirit (Ranger) +30 Int +20 Strength +32% mana +60% mana regen -10% damage -15% resists -30 Int -flask health stuff This should enable you to drop the blood magic gem and use mana (leech) for your attacks, so you can add another damage gem to your main attack. 3.5 build: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2299519

Implemented two new skilltrees for 1.2.

Hey! So I wanted to do a Ranger mode of this, but your skill tree for her doesnt look completed, like her zone isnt done from her beginning, can you tell me where to go when I start as ranger?

You take the skilltree I posted, remove the armor/health nodes in Marauder start, and instead take the evasion/health nodes in Ranger, connecting to the bigger attackspeed/dex/accuracy node.

Hey Peterlerock,
I messed around with this build before the new leagues and liked it alot. I played my arc shadow to endgame, and am now considering starting a reave marauder like this one. Do you think this type of reave tank is viable for Atziri and end game maps? It seems there is little feedback about the build in end-end game. I know from experience it does well in 66 to 72 maps even with just ok gear, but I don't want to invest a ton of time in it if it won't take me beyond that with the right gear. What are your thoughts? Or anyone else's thoughts concerning this. Thanks |

I never played atziri as I'm not too interested in buying/farming midnights.
A lot of other shieldblock builds have done it however, and in the end, they are using the same mechanics. I did play level 78 maps with similar builds (not exactly this one, but similar damage and block), and it felt alright. hi, i really liked the build
tryed in rampage a spell build but wasnt so much fun like this build was for me in ambush i want to reroll my lvl 82 marauder and use crit i searched the forum for 2 weeks but dont know what to start the doryanis catalyst dual wield builds look interested but dont know if i should invest all my currency into it also i thought why not reroll ur build but use crit so i have 2 ways to go: 1h+shield or dual wield i really liked reave as skill, but dont know if there is something better/viable for crit
