Kenzorz's Delicious Crit Trapper (~1350 crit multiplier) [Patch 1.0.5]

So by now I'm level 45, starting to feel weak defensively.
Probably because I haven't got decent energy shield items yet, didn't pick CI yet tho.

I'm starting to think maybe to only really use Ice Nova, Lightning and fire trap. It'S gonna be difficult to link so much stuff perfectly.
I blowed another 30 or so Chromatics on my Deerstalker boots D: Still no BBBG for Ice Nova on them unfortunatly.

Bear trap doesn't benefit from spellpower, so is it really worth it?

You need to get items with life in the early levels, ES is never good until late game.

I barely have any spell power in my build.

Also you don't need to try to have everything at such an early level... Lightning Trap and Fire Trap are good for leveling with simply 3Ls early on.

took on this build just for fun, and it is great!

just got into cruel, have teamed up with a friend of mine and we're pretty much OP.

hell, even beat dominus on normal. never done that before.

one significant problem is life regen. vitality is damn near worthless, and flasks tend to take too long to recharge. rejuv totem really helps but tends to get destroyed quickly. the only reason i died in the dom fight is because my life flasks kept running dry and they just don't recharge fast enough...

so going CI makes a lot of sense for this build, but you lose the ability to have EB !! mana drain is crazy ! in fact, i'm not exactly clear how you're able to pull this off without it. i'm saving my respec's and being careful to have a CI option available to me, but of course, only at the beginning of cruel so still life.

any thoughts ?

I am going to respec into trapper build and i think that's gonna be this one :}

I am CoC-ST caster atm and going to respec using 50+ regrets (i'm a big fan of respeccing :P), i have a few questions if u dont mind.

1) Using ~15-17ex, how (in what order) would u suggest me to buy new equip? I would like to go CI based tree right away after passive tree respec and i wonder what gear should i have at that point (dont have any good flat ES or ES\EVA gear pieces and i am not sure i totally get ES stacking system for CI builds). What gear pieces are essential (crit dagger obviously, any other?), is there other good uniq choice (know about Searing Staff btw :D) like Maligaro's gloves and Deerstalker boots?

2) What do u think about Bear trap + Increased item Rarity combo for bosses?

3) Does build's damage and surv output scale well with increasing microing skill? I am former starcraft2 maniac and i feel like i loose a big chunk of fun using hold-one-button builds.

Well I don't have much experience with life based trappers unfortunately, so I can't really help with the life regen issue, you might want to get flasks with faster recovery mods though.

Yes, as CI it is a bit harder on your mana pool, so I use .
I also have two of these now and have no need for Clarity anymore (freeing up a lot of my mana pool at the same time).

1) Try to find a good crit/ES shield first and decent 5L ES chest and ES helm. Make sure your elemental resists are 75% from rings and accessories after the chest/helm.

Weapon comes later (doesn't have to be expensive, the dagger in "My Gear" costed me 5 chaos lol) I wouldn't spend more than 1 ex on a wand/dagger though unless you have a lot of cash to spare after getting everything else since spell damage/crit doesn't scale insanely while cost does.

2) That's fine, if your Bear Trap does enough damage that is.

3) Survability yes, Cold Snap and Ice Nova has gotten me out of so many bad situations (you can even refer to my videos and see how many close calls I get out of despite having a decent ES pool for the map level :p)
Damage output, yes and no. No because you have to keep in mind traps have cooldowns and sometimes you might throw too many too fast. :)
