RRBG on two pure evasion pieces. Would love to know how many chromes that took you. I have a pair of gloves that I have put over 250 so far into that still I can not get RRBG.

This guide was just what i was looking for after i messed up my first char - with was a ranger too :D
But it was fun to play so i just took this guide and gave it a try.
By now im lvl 45 and started act2 cruel and im impressed how tanky i am.
But when i see my dmg ...
My RoA is just hitting for around 320dps which is kinda depressing - but the mobs cant kill me so it just takes much time to kill them.

I've never had a "high" char so im lacking mostly all the "important" skill gems - i just have 1 life leech gem and no blood magic gems at all
I'll try to manage the mana with %of physical leeched as mana from a ring and my bow atm but its by far not that effective as on my duellist ;)

this is my build so far


some of my stats atm
~1500hp
~50-75 resitances
~5 hp/s
~1700 armor ( 350armor and 1350 evasion )
~360dps
-> mainhand physical 86-194, mainhand total 104-294

Does anyone have some tips for me how to get my ranger some better dps?
Im realy glad for anything :)
Btw i do have some currency so i think i could even trade some parts if it would help

Could you run this build using the bloodmagic keystone? If so when would you take it

Still curious about life leech, though. Could you go for it on gear instead of with the gem?

Quality Life Leech is your best friend, as increased life leech rate is really the saver here. Often you leech a big amount, but it restores so slowly and you end up dying anyway.

Yes without the auras of course, I was thinking of using the bloodmagic keystone while leveling and then respecing and using aura's for late game. Any idea around which level it's good to take blood magic? Also, i assume you have to buy the life leech gem of someone, are these easy to get in new economies like 1 week races?

Variety? Great survivability. No need to worry about enemy elemental resistances. Plus I'm pretty sure that you can get a higher dps with a purely physical bow build than with a Lightning Arrow build (maybe not with this build, but a high crit physical build can deal a crapload of damage).

One thing I don't understand is how you're supporting a level 19 Concentrated Effect gem with your gear. Your tree gives +50 Intelligence (+80 if you take Hard Knocks, which you don't). Are you rocking +Intelligence on your rings/ammy or am I missing something?

What if you took Master Fletcher instead of Resolute Technique? That 20% increased accuracy rating with bows on your way to Master Fletcher is not too shabby. Or you could go for Weathered Hunter and get accuracy plus movement speed (wee!)

I'm having a tough time using Rain of Arrows with Blood Magic. I have items with mana leech, and since Split Arrow is more cost effective I've been running that off of mana without too much trouble. If I try to get similar dps with Rain of Arrows and Blood Magic, it takes my life down way too fast! Did you start using Rain of Arrows with Blood Magic as soon as possible, or did you wait till end game to use Rain of Arrows?
