ZIGGYD's Rain of Arrows Ranger (Top 40 Nemesis 1 Week Race Build) 1.1 Updated!

Regarding the tree, is it better to stick with Resolute Technique or to leave that and take the crit nodes to the left (i.e. Lethality & Heartseeker)?

What's better end game? Crit vs. Never Missing

Kind of have the same question here. I have a CoC variation that I am working on but I am not sure if it is worth it or stick with the RT version. Looks like I will have around 300% crit chance + the 50% from Maligaro's and the 7.5% from Harbinger Bow (wont be running quillrain). As far as HP I have around the same max % but wont have the same base that Ziggy's version does since he is picking up all that STR going through marauder and templar. Anyone have Opinions?

Edit: worked with coc today and it just isn't worth it. Leave it to the barrage + quil set ups

Also once your dps gets decent you can run a carnage heart and this will free up a slot from your roa set up allowing you to run 5L without any loss in survivability. I recommend at least 9%, 10% preffered. Should only run about 10c. (Easily affordable from random orb drops through normal)

Going to run my 5L carcasd jack come 62. Should get me a new pair of blood dance and try them out

Well the main reason I asked is because RT seems kinda pointless after I get Lioneye's Glare Imperial Bow (best bow for this build?)
selling for 4ex 30chaos perfect for this build :)

no offence, but i really dun get it why u take + physical attack damage and at the same time also + elemental damage??? if u wanna focus on physical damage, then why r u taking elemental damage too? and why go all the way up to resolute technique and those nodes so far away to get hp??? I dun understand. accuracy is not an issue for ranger i think? coz rangers hav high accuracy. and 2% max resist is not so important until u hav to go so far away to get it? i think diamond skin is better and much closer. sorry if i sound noob. i am jst confused. thanks for the guide though. would be happy if u r able to explain a bit more. perhaps u spec them out later?? thanks

he used to have the tree set up to take diamond skin, but there's no useful nodes around it after ambush league update, so he changed it. I believe the extra 2% maximum really helps. Being able to have 77% elem resist makes a difference compared to 75%

I'm also assuming he took the elem damage to boost the added fire damage gem, as well as boosting the hatred aura. personally, i would go for more phys damage and life, but i don't see any other good place to get them from (that has good nodes around it), without waste a bunch of nodes.
So I am using ZiggyD's tree as a foundation for my current idea and wanted to see what you all think. I felt it was more appropriate to post the idea here since its a modified version of his build and credit should fall to him.

REQ. Item: Chin Sol (1 chaos investment)

Running Acro + Phase + Ondar's

ST Attack Change: Barrage instead of Frenzy

HP: about 240% - 104 point build

Concept:
Utilize chin sol as a cheap end game weapon. Since the build is running point blank and we are going to be on top of the mobs anyways, chin sol's 100% damage boost will sky rocket our DPS and make up for its low base damage.

Chin Sol 100% dmg at close range + Point Blank + Conc. Effect = massive numbers.

Another plus on Chin Sol is its Knockback. So melee mobs will keep being pushed back requiring them to spend time stepping forward back to you while you have 100% KB chance in PB range. This will effectively take most melee damage out of the equation.

Now because of the KB I decided to switch to Acro + Phase + Ondar's giving us far my defense vs ranged attacks and spells.

Why change Frenzy for barrage? Because Chin Sol + Barrage will guarantee that any melee rogue exile or unique boss will not be able touch you for the most part. Barrage is OP with knockback.

CWDT: Frenzy Charge + IC + Inc. Duration will help further our defenses against phys. damage melee if anything does get through giving us ample time (3 or 4 seconds at level 1 CWDT since we can max Inc. Duration).

CWDT: Enfeeble to low our damage taken for anything that does get through our defenses.

Now b/c of the loss of Frenzy we need a way to generate charges. I was thinking of running either..

a) Blood Rage + Blood Dance (easiest way to counter Blood Rage)
b) Blood Rage + finding enough life regen to counter Blood Rage + maybe throwing in Darkray Vectors one day.

--What is your guys's opinion on throwing in Rearguard for this idea for the block and spell block? I know it is expensive but may be worth saving for.

5L Carcass Jack would be a great fit for this build as well but not sure if it is worth running with it or a mediocre 6L armor.. thoughts?

Thanks guys for your opinions and help.

@ziggyD I know you dont check this thread much but would enjoy your comments on the idea.

Thank you so much!

I'm quite noob at this game. I've done almost exclusively races, and only finished Normal in Ambush with one character.
I joined a party to kill Merveil at lv 11 when everyone else was lv 14-16, and I think I held me own better than some of the others in my party. Not once was I even close to dying and I took down every Invader I encountered so far.

Farming Southern Forest was quite fast and easy after that. Sharktooth quiver is an insane combination with Rain of arrows, and I also have some overall nice defensive and life gear. Damage isn't bad either after I crafted my bow; Point blank is surprisingly good. Even at lv12, I was 1-shotting the whole crowd of tiny monkeys surrounding me with RoA in Southern Forest and I was able to tank most Invaders there while still underleveled.

This is my own way of doing it, pretty much the same.
