How much time do people have to spend testing stuff out on their own, just freakin tell people and stop being vague!!

True, it would do much for quality of life, if it wasn't for decently maintained wiki this subforum would be overflowing.

I mentioned Sacred 2 as an extreme example, 90% of wiki info was a product of ingame player testing. And it's a very complex game, a lot of things aren't easy to test at all and some don't even make much sense, devs here at least try.
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

Most people claiming the game is hard to understand did not even read the descriptions properly. Like reduced mana reducing mana cost when arctic armor has no cost. It costs 0 mana to cast. So no interaction. When activationg aa it shows up as a buff in your buff/debuff bar. So it is affected by "buff" nodes. that includes the mana drain as well oc.

Or CwDT telling you exactly what lvl the linked gems need, still numerous threads about: my enduring cry/molten shell does not trigger....

Then the whole increased/reduced/more/less confusion. Basic knowledge of math.
additive/multiplicative....

The only damage type that is confusing atm is DOT and that should be easily rectified by updating the descriptions.

The situation you've described is exactly what I mean. Vague. Who would even guess that arctic armor out of all the skills in the game is the ONE without a mana cost...even though it costs mana? You'd have to guess that it worked in some different way in order to realize that you even needed to read it more closely than anything else.

I mean, playing Path of Exile isn't the playerbase's job. So don't expect them to approach game mechanics the same way that a lawyer approaches a case.
As an UI/UX + Graphics expert I feel your guy's pain. The astute observations about almost needing a PhD to find out the detailed information for some game mechanics and how it can be frustrating is much appreciated by other players! It confirms that I'm not the only one having a hard time to understand the extremely poor (or completely lacking) descriptions. :-)

Your example of Desecrated ground is spot on!
i.e.
Q. What type of damage does it do? Physical? Elemental? A. Ah, Chaos according to the wiki ...
Q. How much damage does it do per second? Not a clue ... and how do I find out?

Well, that is one way to interpret it. Or you say it costs mana per second, and then it makes sense to apply reduced mana cost to it.
It's not always people not reading properly, it's about 50/50 with tooltips being vague. Not that i blame GGG for that, making precise and intuitive tooltips is actually a hard thing to do.
