Flay' Flicker Finder - 800,054 DPS, 50/390MF, fast clear speeds. [New pics in MF gear/FAQs]

Hello there, this is my first post on the forum except shops & selling section.

I am pretty new to this game since my shadow character is my second character on Domination.
My first one was Duelist blender build and i was getting bored of tanky character then I read your post and thought this build is what i wanted.

Even after hard time getting Shav & Crown of eyes, i managed to become lvl 70 after countless death I encountered from time to time.

It is hard to level, but as much as it frustrate me, it is fun playing this character.

Well, here's my gears, can you please check them and let me know what I need?
Since Domination league is almost ending, I don't know if I should bother obtaining Exalted to get shav and crown of eyes. Funny thing is I can't use my aura skills on my prism, since I am still on CI and it seems like my prism is useless due to CI and no hp I have.

So ur lvl 70 w shavs n crown n ur not wearing them?

Without shav's I wouldn't use Prism Guardian at all. Most any ES shield will be better.

Your dagger has nice attack speed and ok pdps, but the base crit is low. One with 8 or ideally 9+ would be better, even if you lose a bit of pdps IMO.

Sin Trek is ok but personally I'd rather use rainbowstrides for more ES and the mana.

Quality on Blood Rage helps a lot, particularly with reflect.


Personally, I would consider upgrading some other stuff (dagger especially, jewelry and belt aren't particularly impressive either though) before switching to shav's. Could grab a shield with 300-400 ES and a helm with 200 or so pretty cheaply as stop-gap stuff. Not just because would be a decent damage increase with much less expense, but because you said you are 70 and had a hard time getting there. Switching to shav's will generally make leveling harder, because you'll have less ES (maybe not compared to what you have now, but if you had a decent ES helm and shield).
In that form you could run Piety till 78-80, and then switch over.


Three non-item things: which auras are you actually running? The ones I see are Wrath and Anger. Anger is not nearly as good as hatred; it's both less damage and doesn't let you chill/freeze mobs, which is a big help defensively. Even with infernal mantle. And while wrath is great, I'd go with discipline (or even grace) for leveling purposes, if both aren't possible.

Are you sure not running melee splash is best? For bosses, sure, but for most mobs I'd think it helps more than melee phys, especially with quality. One only has to hit an average of two mobs to come out ahead.

Also, why do you have two curses linked with CoDT? Do you have the double curse node? If not, I'm pretty sure only one of them will work, so it's a waste of a slot.


That's my thoughts anyways, Sblak may disagree. I'd go with him if he has other ideas, he has more experience with the build than I do :)

I agree 100 % with Celeritas.

Simply get lots of ES to level easily until you get a Shavs and Crown. Then work to match your gear to what I posted. Get a dagger with more crit when you can.

I used a Rainbowstrides to level at times. I agree it's harder to level on this build, but I made it to 90, and could have done maybe 92, but I ran out of time. If you want to level quickly you should just switch to a simple tanky Spec Throw build. But if you think that's boring and want to MF, then play my build.

Once I finally got a shavvs and crown it took me quite a long time to get all the other gear/gems together, but I have to say I love this build. Piety takes less than 15 seconds with close to zero damage taken, life leech is great, unfortunately wasted around 1100 fusings on shavvs before finally settling on a 5l without item rarity. Dagger could use an upgrade, then I just need a ring to compliment andvarius and a nice amulet (found some replacements for now).

Only thing I'm having trouble with is maps with mana degeneration and reflect mods. And the fact that I die a LOT in parties. But for currently 281 MF I can't complain. For leveling I just replace the gems in my aurseizes with spectral throw. Obviously doesn't compare to flicker speeds, but no deaths due to blood rage and not finding enemies. Works okay so far.

Loving this build so far. Its my 5th build in the two months that I have played and combined with my MF Rigtheous Fire Maurader I cant see why someone would play a non MF build. I have a hard hitting Lightning Arrow Ranger and a very Tanky EK Scion that I dont touch much anymore because no MF and slow clear times are just horrible. I am only 62 so far but the only thing really killing me is desync. Its brutal. I was lucky enough to get a cheap Prism Guardian and saw someone selling a really low CoE in trade for only 8ex. Used just one divine and got 150%/2%/2% which is good enough for me. Not too far from having enough for a shavs by the time i get to about 70.

Wondering if at 70 (If I dont quite have enough for Shavs) I should switch to this along with PG and CoE:



Or will the lack of enough ES just be too difficult?

Generally no. All of the ones on poe.xyz go for about 22-30ex. But you do see some strange prices on trade chat sometimes. Here is mine:

My DPS seems really low. I am currently finishing up Merc, level 64. My dagger is very average, not an end game dagger, but still my dps seems really low, even for just present content. Am I missing something?

Mainly I think your dagger has a low base crit.

Also, on the gear you linked you have a portal gem in your 6l, which seems a bit strange. Since you're CI, you can run melee on full life for around 40% more damage. If you have mana issues, what I suggest is that you get a new flicker gem and do not level it all the way up. I did that for a while, helps quite a bit. You can check the wiki for the levels where the mana cost changes and choose which one you want. It's a good chance to get a quality flicker too, which helps a decent bit.

Besides that, if possible you'd like to get more accuracy (rings are the easiest source).
