have 670 heavy strike and 340 ground slam, is it good at level 43?

About cruel bandit rewards: Isnt %6 attack speed better than %12 physical damage?

I opted for the 12%, figured the 6% increase in attack speed amounts to 6% more damage... which unless you're elemental heavy works out to be less than the pure physical damage bonus.

Hi,

I've just started a melee Marauder, lvl 39 so far, and it's awesome. I've been using Sweep for AOE and Heavy Strike for single target, and specializing in 2h maces. I can solo Cruel without any problem, but I understand that it might not be so bright in merciless.

My question is : Are these skills the right choice, or do they suck ? I read before that Sweep sucks, and I should use Ground Slam instead of it. Is this true ? I'm quite a noob at Marauders, never even played a melee class before, so I'de be glad if you guys help me decide this one. :) What is the current best build and skill combination for a 2h melee Marauder ?

Problem with Sweep is that it requires you to be quite close to enemies = more damage taken. I swapped to GS awhile ago, and i've been happy. Leap Slam is also quite good, atleast for escaping and positioning, if not for damage.
Is there any way to increase the range of either Ground Slam or Sweep ? Amplify gives +12% to "radius of area skills", and Master of the Arena gives +2 to "melee weapon and unamred range". What do these skills exactly do ? Do they both increase the range of both Grouns Slam and Sweep ?

There's also "Blast Radius" near the Witch starting area, but essentially same as "Amplify". I don't have either, but would assume it does what it says - increases the size and damage by the magnitude mentioned.

Agree with Pavetsu, "Ground Slam" > "Sweep" in terms of aoe as well as range to safely cast the spell. Usually means you don't aren't totally surrounded by mobs and instead "snipe" at them from a distance.

My two cents.

Currently i'm lvl 61 and i'm on Merciless Act 1 (i like to farming).

Next step is going to life nodes over Iron Reflexes. After that, i'm thinking on to get Steel Skin from Duelist Tree and his +attack speed and +damage nodes.

I worked too hard on Beta Trading subforums to get cheap gear, i spent a lot of time and some orbs. Now i think that i have decent gear and i will start to work on improve sockets and his links. Right now i'm farming Fusing, Jeweller and Chromatics orbs, it's a hard task, but i need 5L on my chest and on my weapon asap.

I am updating my shop (watch my signature), i think it will be ready tomorrow or tuesday if you want to take a look.
