my variant is 85. could be higher if new leagues didn't start, the only times I died were against temple piety and random stupidity, like a pug group that wanted to do extra damage double waever. my plan was to go in to watch them die. I never knew she closes the exit on you when the fight starts.....

though I do plan to reroll yet another variant of it in the new league, one probably more faithful to the original with vp, but I'll have to see how well my old can handle double reflect first

just respeced my shadow in standard league to this build and it works like a charm. Right now im lacking in resistances and some gems need to be leveled up aswell. Overall it works really good.

Reached level 54, but i think i will give up with this build. Im at dominus cruel but there is no way i can beat his minion. I lack either life/survivability and damage.
I got 4-link voll's but i spent all my chromes to get the right colors and nothing...

Think i will re-roll another char, and maybe when got better gear i will re-try. As all of you said potential dps are huge, and it's a solid build, but i don't think it can be done with 0 currency.

I'm level 51 with this build and just entered merciless. I'm still using spectral throw, will probably switch to barrage/EK in a couple levels.

I've spent 0 currency other than 1-2c for a gem here and there. But I've blown away the content so far, its been pretty easy - even the new corrupted areas.

At level 51, even tidal island (58) was a breeze.

If anything presents a challenge, I throw down a skelly totem which helps a ton. I also use summon spectre in my cwdt (I figure if the mobs are hitting the my adds, their not hitting me which is the best defense of all).

I'm level 83. The problem with leveling is map pool - I'm solo player so my max level maps are 72.

You are trying to transition to CoC too early, particularly in view of your almost nonexistent gear. I transitioned to CoC in Merciless Act 2, I had some decent items and currency left from previous characters, and still had a somewhat rough time until I hit level 70.

Join a public group to carry you through Dominus, then rush through Merciless till you reach Act 1 Ledge, Act 2 Fellshrine and Act 3 City of Sarn / Docks, there you can grind experience till you level, and you'll get some gear upgrades and currency in the process.

p.s. you should be able to solo Dominus with skeleton totems or skeletons linked to cast on critical to tank the damage (barrage - coc - EK - skeletons in your 4-link Voll's), but if you find it too difficult, the easy way is just to wait for a public group and join it.

I really liked Bars' suggestion about the Summon Skeletons gem. It's been working great on my way to Merciless Vaal and got me past him relatively easily without any deaths.

I have played through the game so far with only a 4-link chest, and so I use CoC+Skeletons+PCoC+Barrage in my gloves instead. This means I really don't need a 5-link as long as I start with this secondary Barrage - summoning Skellies and getting Power Charges, and then unleaching the fans of ninja stars (yeah, I got the MTX).

It's of course a slower approach than having a 5- or 6-link to fit it all in there with just a primary Barrage, but it really makes this a cheaper build since you don't need to spend tons of currency on linking or on buying those 5- or 6-links. That can come later when you've found all the epic lootness in maps, and it will allow you to play longer before your character feels 100% ready, while still not struggling as much in the process.

So far I really like this build. I'm currently doing a mix-up between Bars' tree and the OP.

My current situation. What should I improve? I can't find anything to spend money on. (Got like 15 exalteds right now on ambush)



Capped resists with purity, enough mana regen to sustain chain, 4.2k hp (7 life nodes available still, can get 5k I think)

Can do all maps with ease. (even completed unique temple map without dying) Didn't try 75+ maps yet.

Planning to buy a 20 quality chain. What else should I buy?

By the way, I used to struggle alot against physical reflect mobs. I was basically 1 hitting myself. I got some levels and I get zero damage from reflect now. What has changed? I can hold my chain EK on right click on a reflect pack and stay at full hp still.

About reflect packs: if you tell me you don't take damage from them, not using even grace, I won't believe you. With a granite flask of iron skin, however, it's an entirely different story. Also, your life leech gem leveled and became stronger.

As for what you can upgrade, IMHO your build is complete. It's a low-budget build after all (besides the 6-link), doesn't need some kind of insane weapon to deal damage, which is a plus when you're leveling in a new league, but it's also a limitation - you can't reach the DPS numbers of some "normal" attack builds. I've always wondered who really needs such numbers anyway.
