[0.11.0] Eldritch Battery/Armour Crit Dagger Shadow (Based off the CI Crit Dagger Shadow concept)

Is this build really not practical at all?

Just need some feedback before continuing to waste more days grinding on him :p
After Reaching level 68 with this build I just don't think it's going to work out very well, Gear will be much more expensive due to having to get Chaos Resistance and overall I feel like you could get more ES with the CI build than HP with this build. I think I'm just gonna reroll the CI version of this.
Would rly appeciate and official comment by Inva.
I started merciless and rly feel like all the others here, that im squishy as hell and cant do sh** compared to other classes... And they got also way better gear then I do...

Is there a way to reset all skill points or would this char be useless then? :P

Im just wondering if its worth the time, if all peopel tend to say, this build wont work in the uppe lvles?
yea man i have some pretty damn sick gear but I cant do shit with this build.
Oh, sorry for the late replies, trying to build a righteous fire templar in HC atm.

I didn't actually bail from the build. I died at level 50 in HC due to a sudden latency spike at Cruel Act3, went down to default, grinded for a while then got bored in default. I do intend to finish that build up however.

With regards to the build, it is definitely feasible. I made sure the %life nodes added up to a respectable total and that the build allowed for enough life regen to enable blood rage to be switched on and for flicker spamming

However, it does require a fair bit of skill/experience. I actually didn't have any problems with it throughout its "weak" phase, so its viable for sure. With regards to chaos resists, it's not that tough to get if you have the trade know-how.

For this build to work and for you to run blood rage: basically all you need is to be at 0% chaos resist in mercy, which requires +60% chaos resistance on gear and skilltree, which you don't have montgola, despite the other pretty awesome mods on the rest of your gear. Your dagger is quite bad as well tbh for your level.

This was mine at level 44:

With regards to chaos resists, I've actually already managed to get some decent chaos resists gear for my templar, and he's currently only at level 60.

Just some examples of the chaos reists gear i managed to get:
Spoiler

I never claimed that this build would be easy :) That said, it is in fact much easier to build than the CI build because you're heading in the HP direction, which is easier to find gear for as opposed to the CI direction. But the CI build may probably seem more straightforward to you guys because all you need is to head in one direction with regards to gear.

This build requires a lot more thought processing, because you need to prioritise different mods on gear, make a decision with regards to Ar or Ar/ES gear, etc. I can't teach you guys that because only you will know what kind of gear you need, what resists you need, etc.

I have maintained from the start that the dagger builds are by far the more advanced builds I've made. I'm not here to encourage you to follow this build, only to provide a guide for those of you who indeed want to. If you are struggling and want to switch/change builds, by all means do, I won't stop you.

All in all, there is no problem with the skill tree and build. The reason why most of you are struggling is because you don't know what/how to gear yourselves up, and that can only be learnt thru experience. My advice would be to start again with a straightforward build like a caster, summoner, GS mara etc and learn the game before attempting the tougher ones.

Hi Inva,

thank you for you detailed reply.
Thats all I wanted to hear ;)
I keep playing and trying this build.

I know im a beginner but I rly want to keep going with this "skilled/experienced" build.
So I got some further small questions, just for basic understanding.

1. I currently play merciless and I follow ur exact build. So far I got non chaos resist stats (-60%). What should be my goal to gain more survivability? Get mainly better and higher armor equip? Or look for some High armor + chaos resist?

2. Do I need overall +All resist gear or should I focus on getting the -60% chaos away?

3. I get that all the auras just work on late game (combined), cause of all the mana needed and the ES gear u need (with EB) to obtain more mana.

Where is the mana recovery coming from? On ur Gear example I dont see any Clarity equipped. And Mana pots are slightly useless, because u only got like 100 mana left and the used flask mana lasts like 3 LS hits and then its gone.

I really appreciate your guide, postings and help :)
Maybe my questions might also benefit others ;)

1. If you're at negative chaos resists, you need to start trading for gear that have +chaos resists. I recommend belts/rings/ammy. Act2 has alot of chaos mobs which cut right through armor so there's no point in stacking too much armor. Don't settle for those pieces of gear with <10% chaos resists as well. Get those with >20%.

2. You need overall +all resists gear as well as getting the -60% chaos resists away. A kite shield and an astral plate will already help you to get rid of the 36% elemental resists deficit.

3. Yes, no point in having too many auras on if you can't support them. Just keep them socketed to level them.

Once you get a decent physical damage dagger, all you need is the mind drinker node.

Here's an example:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T8wrfkmS5ns&lc=g4oJQb1QOC6CZ1XSWQBF9sf-WkuDbjuYFCppto0tUjk

4 auras being run, roughly around 100 mana pool available, no mana leech gem, no warlord's mark and no usage of mana flasks.

Until you get a decent dagger however, mana flasks will be your only source of mana.

I'm sorry but this build is just not worth it to follow. It hasn't actually been tested by the person who made it. Stop where you are and just respec for CI once they buff it, roll his EK build, much better as of now.

I'm going to have to go with this sadly, respecing and completely re-gearing to the CI version =/
