[1.1]Reave Duelist - Cheap, Effective, End Game Farm
Great build, and for a 5 link I added blind, this should help a lot if people are concerned about dying

I think one of the strength is that it is planned out for lower-ish level (79, but you could lower that to 73 by skipping some lower value nodes) and only up to 4 link. Other option for more survability is life gain on hit. I will expand on the post a bit to include a more nemisis friendly build and some MF basics (weapon swap).

Hello, great guide.
How long do you take to solo kill Merciless Piety ? I'm looking for a spec that can kill her in seconds. Thanks. |
|
Getting to her is as fast as you can leep, mobs wont slow you.
Killing her with 9k frenzy takes... about 30 seconds? I will time my self next time. |

what do you think about taking the blood magic node (and maybe even moral conviction)? it's only 3 points away and i could replace the blood magic gem with another damage gem or IIQ...

What about Mind Over Matter for increased survivability for Nemesis ? Since you're using Blood Magic for the core skills you don't really need your MP ?

What are the reasons for not taking Iron Reflexes, as well as Unwavering Stance? You pass right by them on the tree, does it not interact well with block or something?

I think this build is excellent value and I will definitely try it once I get back to my pc.
My main concern is that with the gear you have posted, and the skill trees you have posted, you're getting about 2200-2300 evasion. At level 60+ this is really, really low. The armour is even lower obviously. I agree 60% block is excellent, and with very minor tweaking you can get 66-70% block with a very similar skill tree. However, anything you don't block/evade is going to crush you as you'll have barely 1000 armour. You can mitigate this somewhat with high hp pool, but seeing as your helm, boots and gloves have no hp I can't imagine this build getting massive hp. The life leech is obviously crucial, but its effectiveness depends entirely on the frequency at which the big hits get through. It seems like running at least one defensive aura is a must. I expect Grace as Determination will do nothing for you unless you spec into IR. Even still Grace would win massively. How would you rate this build defensively for nemesis? Vatio: The main reason for not taking IR is that if you go pure armour, its effectiveness is mitigated by the strength of the hit. Armour does very little if you take a big hit, and absorbs almost all of a small hit. Whereas evasion doesn't care whether the incoming damage is large or small. If the dice roll evades it, it evades it. For high damage incoming attacks evasion just wins over armour, no question. The only caveat is you need enough hp pool to manage the inevitable big hits that will get through your eva/block. If you're playing hardcore, pure evasion can get borderline terrifying with the wrong map mods or just an unlucky blue pack which all hit big. For the record I am speaking in terms of hc/nemesis :-) FiftyShadesOfBlade Last edited by bendot#5349 on Dec 25, 2013, 7:20:37 AM

" Taking blood magic will mean you can't run auras. The DPS comes out a bit ahead when you have something like added fire damage, but I prefer auras for group play (and if you get a 5L you can still add Added fire damage). " You wont have much mana left over after mana reservation, but if you have like +2 mana on hit, you may be be able to mitigate some good damage that way. If it doesn't work, it is only 1 respec point so it is worth trying. " I didn't grab iron reflexes because the build has 200-300 dex (after items) and IR would negate a lot of the bonus from dex. I am a big fan of evasion and think it is a bit under valued. That kinda touches on Unwavering Stance as well, but as the build was meant to be cheap and self sufficient, I wanted to make use of Cast on Stun (which as I touched on will work on a block). |

" Everything you have mentioned is bang on. The passive tree it self is well optimized for offence, and you would need to make some changes to get it a bit more defense focused. The gear though is very well optimized for Piety. So this is what would need to change the most if you want to make the transition to high level maps (70+) You would need to swap out the gloves and helm for something better (HP and evasion) for harder content. I also touched on the fact that the build may not be high level map viable due to the boots (and a bit the shield). With expensive gear it could become easy though. You would need an HP leeche amulet/ring and then you can ditch the perandus for something like Lioneye's. As for making it more defensive for Nemisiss, as it was pointed out in another post (I need to update the OP) dropping haste for grace is a great idea. I think the build is very defensive for peity and low level maps. Dominus and and high level maps will need some higher quality gear. |
