Error: failed to initialise

I got the same problem.

My system is running win7 64 bit with service pack, everything workin fine except poe.

Well, I erased ALL the folders, even the content.ggpk, used CCleaner, and now I'm redownloading for the third time... I'm pretty sure it wont work, so...
HELP?

Reinstall will not help, I tried it several times.

Also I updated my nvidia driver, reinstalled dx, used another installation path, tried to start the game with administration rights, tried compability mode ... nothing worked.

I checked the content.ggpk with the PackCheck.exe , everything fine...

I' m usin Win 7 64 Bit SP1 Prof. , I got a lots of games an applications, everything is working fast and fine but this game.... oh lord..

I had this problem after the open beta patch. Restarting my computer fixed it.

Also have this problem, tryed the tips to get it working but did not fix it for me, i played PoE in beta b4 and had no prob but now it dont work anymore :( any tip?

Ich glaub ich habe eine Lösung gefunden, auch wenn mir nicht klar ist warum es so ist:

"So, Problem solved. Und zwar so ungewöhnlich wie das gezeigte Verhalten an sich schon war. Eigentlich war ich kurz davor, das System einfach neu aufzusetzen. Und ehrlich, ich habe so etwas zuvor weder erlebt noch von irgendjemanden gehört. Es stellte sich zuerst heraus, dass neben PathofExile genau folgende Anwendungen auch nicht mehr funktionieren: Die Minianwendung GPU Observer von Obmuk, die Intel Rapid Store Software, der AS SSD Benchmar und nicht zuletzt der nvidia Inspector.

Aufgrund dessen, dass der GPU Observer von Obmuk aber seinen Dienst verweigerte, habe ich testweise den nvidia Inspector starten wollen. Aber siehe da, auch er stürzt ab. Allerdings mit einer ziemlich kryptisch erscheinenden Fehlermeldung (die ich leider nicht konserviert habe). Daher mal die erste Zeile aus dem Kopf: "Das Gebietschema DE ist in dieser Instanz ungültig...." usw. usw.

Mehr aus Verzweiflung, habe ich dann in der Systemsteuerung das Panel "Region und Sprache" aufgerufen und der existierenden deutschen Tastatur eine US-amerikanische hinzugefügt, auf diese umgeschaltet, die deutsche gelöscht und wieder angelegt und darauf erneut umgeschaltet... Völlig irre... aber siehe da, das System läuft wieder völlig rund, inkl. aller oben aufgeführten Programme... Keine Ahnung so etwas passieren kann.

Irgendwas im deutschen Gebietsschema für die Tastatur muss aus unbekannten Gründen defekt gewesen sein. Und so manche Anwendung scheint wohl die Landessprache abzufragen. Und wenn da etwas schief läuft, geht gleich die ganze App den Bach runter... Was es nicht alles gibt. "


Ich habe es probiert, die Tastatur auf US-amerikanisch gesetzt und wieder zurück und es ging sofort.... wtf -.-

Can GGG atleast acknowledge this problem and say something about it? last time i find that they answered about it was back in april 2012, and the things they sayed then did not work for me.

they won't because they have no fucking idea what this error is. seems like people with this error are fucked. play another game and forget about PoE.
