Dual redbeaks is 200% damage, searing touch give 110% with perfect rolls.

Searing Touch gives 90% Fire damage and 70% Burning damage, so a total of 160%.

90% Fire damage...it's 40%...for a 110% total.

I guess you could link Iron Will, that would give around 120% spell damage if you have 600 strength, I'm not exactly sure if that affects righteous fire though... should probably test it.

RF is not a spell, spell damage has no effect.

I happen to have a 6-link searing touch. So my question is, for my situation, would the searing touch give me more dmg than the 2 redbeaks? Idk what I would put in the sockets for the 6 link if I did use it

Use 6L Searing for something more useful.
-The most you can get is like 20% increased fire damage...but it may not even work...
-Culling Strike does not increase RF damage even though it should...some gem damage sources may be bugged.

And thanks Epsilon, I've been a bit too busy lately to play. There is 40% fire damage, doesn't the 50% spell damage count? I remember Chris saying that DoT's were only affected by element specific modifiers, so I guess that means Spell Damage doesn't equal Fire Damage.

I've been playing a similar build since doon mace came out but I use fp instead of ek. Synergy is pretty good. Cold res mobs melt, fire res mobs shatter. If you get bored of ek, you should try it.

Btw you should link item rarity instead of faster casting to your rf, it is better than nothing :P

That looks nice, heaps of strength and life, I might try it if I find a Doon, but I tested FP before and didn't really like the play style, EK just hits harder. The plus to using FP though is that you get to run grace or determination instead of hatred.

How much DPS did Doon add to your build?

Good thing about fp is it chills and freezes way often than ek stuns. Ek's plus is getting more range but if you are ranged, rf doesn't hit anything and I can say rf is like almost half of my damage against non fire res mobs.

I have 2.55k gmp fp and 10k ek with doon and with %90 spell damage wand it is 2k fp and 8.3k ek. Most of the gems are level 20 except faster proj and hatred, they are level 15.

Weird, I have 9-10K EK damage with my wand, not sure where the extra damage is coming from seeing as I have less Strength? I do have a few 20/20 gem though that I swapped out from my low life EK farmer.

EK still chills with Hatred aura running and using vulnerability curse increases the amount of stuns as well as boosting the degen damage from RF. I prefer no to be in melee range though. Been trying to toss up the benefits of respecing, all I would lose an additional aura, so elemental weakness maps would hurt, I would still have overcapped fire res, but not cold/lightning. Swapping out Alpha's Howl may give room for better resists though, and my belt could be upgraded.

As you said though, I have to level PoF to 20 before I make any changes.

I guess those extra levels on hatred and q faster proj kinda matter. Doon is pretty much like 125 spell dmg 17 cast speed wand with 60 str extra. So it is like mirrorable wand of your element that have minus 10-20 spell dmg and dont have crit or proj speed.

As I said you are not really getting full potential of rf if you are not in melee range though. It is personal preference too ofc. Personally I love being in melee range, most mobs doesnt get to hit because of freeze and chill and the ones that hit doesn't really hurt. I've done up to 76 maps solo and besides few bosses, there isn't many things that hurts me. I've done couple test runs with ek too today. Ek has better clear speed at slow and ranged monsters because of range but those monsters mostly isn't dangerous anyway. Stun was kinda nice but you gotta keep hitting for it, freeze lasts few seconds and chill more than that so I still like freeze better. To be fair I can say ek's aoe clear speed is pretty good, par or even better than fp. But ek single target feels so weak compared to fp. So just try it out yourself and decide which one you like most ^^
