Hardcore Frost Witch Guide (Last Updated May 8th)

Great guide, well written!

One question: What's your opinion on getting tons of crit for the Freeze>Ice Lance? Should I rather focus on more health/energy shield?

I'm new at this game, so if I sound retarded, please don't flame lol
Why do you get Elemental Equilibrium when it's a pure frost build?

Also why get Chaos Resist if you're going to get Chaox Inoculation?

Seems like a pretty redundant passive tree.

I don't get Elemental Equilibrium. It's not (and was never) selected in the passive tree I linked.

I get Chaos Resist temporarily to make things like Vaal Pyramid much safer when I don't have Chaos Inoculation. Of course you should drop it before getting Chaos Inoculation. In fact I said above you should drop it as soon as you get across the river in act 3.

There's nothing redundant here.

In hardcore, health and energy shield come first. Dying is tragic, and crits don't do nearly as much to keep you alive. Also, if my spreadsheet math is right, the cast speed nodes actually give you more crits per second than crit nodes, assuming you have enough mana regen to cast continuously.

Ah yep, my bad on the EE, looked like it was selected.
Is this an only pve build?
i wonder when u go to CI / how much shield have to before activate CI?
Thank you for the guide and the explanation of the spells and skills. My first character is a frost witch so this was very useful.
how viable is this build for pvp?

No idea. I've never PvP'd in Path and don't really have any interest in it. :P
