Theory - Lightning Strike, 1h Mace + Shield (HC Build) v0.2

So where is your survival coming from? No extra endurance charges very low armor. You take armor/energy nodes when going Iron Reflexes will net you more in the long run. I think this build is best left as what it is theory, cause it just won't work in the real world.
getting above the resist cap isnt hard lol. I don't think you will survive as melee without having cap resists in end game. Tribeca, I've made many builds and they have been successful(yes I'm playing hardcore) so far so before calling people "clueless", I'd suggest informing yourself. I just think that at lvl 69 (with 80 points) you are at "end game" where you need enough defense to resist as melee. Anyway, if you don't like max resist just don't go with it ... I'm just giving out suggestions.

It comes from your Shield and the 28% armor passive from Templar tree, I can't run IR because it's just too far, if I were to do that, I would just make a 1h Sword Ranger/Duelist build instead.
You will need to have mod with decent life & armor rating on every piece of armor to up your defense.

Thus you can remove the part leading to Water dancing & 18% life nodes and place them to:
-An extra endurance charges with 3x crit multiplier.
-Middle of the tree for mass life nodes, Iron grip & dex nodes ahead.
OR continue on with:
-Leather & Steel node can be prove useful since it increase both armor and evasion, run Grace to get your evasion.

But I believe the point with LS build is that you could kill mobs as soon as possible before you got hit hard.

Ya it's all preference, I find it takes time to cap my resist maybe due to I always played alone and if it's a fresh start you surely need to grind to get your gears depending on your play time.

Anyway thinks for pointing out.

EDITED:
I died on day 2 on the 1 week races, Lv.51 while still wielding 2H weapon.
Guess I'm always rush on races & on getting extra skill point, killed by flicker.

The problem with the build is that I think IR is almost always needed for melees, those armor nodes are nothing without IR + Grace.
Also when 2H weapons can get very powerful, you will be reluctant to use 1h + Shield which mobs hits real hard in Merciless especially in OBT.

I guess I'm trying to build around "Galvanic Hammer" too hard but I think it's still variable but not so much physical attack but more elemental with Templar.

Example of a Templar start:

Signing off till OBT.

I dont think your new build is gonna work, diamonds are getting the nerf bat. So RT is kinda mandatory as melee.

About Resists: I always picked ele adap (since they introduced it) when i played melee, the extra resis are awesome.

Do you know if Inner Force also boosts the +max resists from purity?

I tried it till level 51, accuracy isn't too much of problem with eagle eye & at least 1 or 2 accuracy mods on gear.

I know diamonds aren't in alpha but if diamond were to nerf then melee's are gonna hit hard.
Not to hi-jack thread, but what does everyone think of my Lightning Strike 1H Mace + Shield build? Yes it's all 111 points used just for the hell of it. I took EE but won't take that until later in the game where I can put Fire & Cold damage on LS, so I can use another AoE skill to drop Lightning Res to -50%, or just use LS with no resist debuff. I like to think the EE will especially be very good when it comes to PvP, which I plan to play on cut throat server if there is a permanent one.

I think the build will do decent damage, but has a lot of defense from Armor, ES, Block, and +55 Resist all with +30 Fire & Lightning. I think with pretty good block chance and really nice resists it should make for some pretty good survivability. Seems like the better choice for OB rather than just stacking all HP.

I've only gotten to almost level 50, so I'd love some feed back on the build for end game.

I don't see the point of IR... you don't have any +armor, and barely any +evasion in the build. Doesn't seem like Grace will be taken advantage of without a lot higher +evasion.

Simple your evasion comes from your gear, evasion gear has more evasion than an armor gear does, then convert them to armor via IR.

Dex doesn't really give alot of evasion.

Grace + IR alone gives you alot of armor, it's like wearing another piece of chest armor, not to mention with Inner force, it's boost by another 30%.
