[2.6] Yalani's Low Life Righteous Fire Build
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- SUPER OUTDATED BUILD - Check this one instead: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3234515 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Important: Dont try this build if you are new to the game It's kinda expensive for new player It also only starts to work at higher levels - dont expect anything before level 65-70 This is also not a build, where you can look at the Gear + Passivesection and just mindlessy follow it. (Unless you got a high leveled character to respec + very good gear) There are some mechanics, which are semi-complicated (especially for new player), so if you aren't too much into math and/or are to lazy to read trough a lot of stuff, don't play this build. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Table of content 1. Gameplay Videos 2. Items 3. Bandits 4. Ascendancies & Passives • 4.1 Witch - Occultist (no Shav's ring) • 4.2 Shadow - Trickster + Grace (with Shav's ring) • 4.3 Shadow - Trickster without Grace (with Shav's ring) • 4.4 Shadow - Trickster (no Shav's ring) • 4.5 Templar - Guardian (no Shav's ring) • 4.6 Scion - Occultist + X (no Shav's ring) • 4.7 Templar - Inquisitor (no Shav's ring) 5. Enchantments 6. Uber-Atziri Guide 7. Shaper 8. Downloadable DPS + Regen Sheet/Math 9. Pros/Cons 10. FAQ & Troubleshooting - please read! 11. My Characters Seriously, if you are new to RF - at least read the troubleshooting section! There is a lot of stuff you can do wrong with your character - you can save yourself a lot of time, frustration and maybe even currency if you read this section! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Gameplay Videos Videos are from early 2017 - a lot of things have changed since then, but you can still get the general idea of this build Keep in my that since 2017: -Shield Charge got a rework and is faster now -The build has a bit more damage -The build has less ES -The build has way more sustain via Regen/Evasion -The AoE of RF for mapping is WAY higher -Vaal Discipline doesnt add ES anymore, but we got Vaal RF for bosses now
Deathless Shaper - Level 99 Trickster
Deathless Shaper - Level 94 Guardian
https://youtu.be/C8NtY3VqEcQ Sorry for the sound issues - it seems to bug out after Shaper is using his Bullethell. If anybody knows how to fix this, PM me please :P I was using Ephemeral Edge instead of Doryani's in this video, because i prefer the fight to be safer - The battle would be a lot faster with Doryani's though.
T13 Waterways - Level 99 Trickster + Grace
Atziri - Level 99 Trickster + Grace
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2. Items Since RF's damage is based on your maximum Energy Shield, you should try to get as much ES and Int as possible on your gear.
Weapon
Doryani's Catalyst: With a maximum of 132% elemental damage, it is the Best option in terms of DPS. Redbeak: 100% increased damage (which only works if you are on low life - if you can't go for the full aura setup yet due to a low level Enlighten, make sure to arrange your auras so that you reach the low life state), and the ability to use Whirling Blades. 10% attackspeed is also nice to have to whirl even faster. The cost of this Item is basically 0. Ephemeral Edge: Best option in terms of defense with a top end of 52% increased ES (50% maxroll + 10 Int). Since RF scales with your ES, this item also increases your damage by a bit - I recommend it, if your other items aren't that good or if you are playing the Trickster class, which already has a lot of damage via the tree. Daresso's Passion: up to 80% increased damage while you have no Frenzy charges or 12% more damage if you have 3 - Both is lower than the 100% of Redbeak, but Frenzy Charges also do increase your attackspeed. I personally would not recommend this item.
Shield
Rise of the Pheonix: With 8% maximum Fireresistance, a lot of flat Fireresistance and Movementspeed, easily the best option for this build. The only downside is the low amount of ES. If you are very well geared, you can also go with a rare 500 ES+ Shield with the reduced damage over time taken craft from Leo. You cannot use a rare shield in -Maxresistance/Less reg maps, except if you are playing Guardian - he is able to do pretty much all map mods even with a rare Shield. Depending on the Class you are playing, you have to get a really high roll of Leo's mod in order to not degenerate.
Helmet
The Vertex: Best item for Trickster due to the high amount of ES AND Evasion, but also a pretty good option for the other Ascendancies. It has a top roll of ~350 ES and gives 2 additional level to Discipline (Which is 50+ flat ES with Aura Effectiveness) for a total of 400+ES. You can go for a rare 400+ ES helmet with Intelligence if you can afford it, but keep in mind, that you have to get your Purity of Fire to level 23 somehow.
Gloves
Preferably high ES Gloves with Int and Resistances - otherwise go with Voidbringer: Solid option if you don't have the currency for a good pair of Gloves. the Spellcrit helps with the generation of Elemental Overlord via Orb of Storms, and the increased manacost is also negligible, since we don't use any active skills for damage. Another cheapish alternative for Trickster with Shav's due to the nice extra amount of %Evasion from Intelligence and Guardian for Mana/ES. Don't even consider this on other Classes, or if you have a good pair of rare ES Gloves. Since RF only uses 4 links, The best option would be a pair of rare Essencecrafted Gloves with the +30% more DoT Affix with high ES.
Boots
Rare Boots with as much ES and Int as possible. Ignore Movementspeed, since we are using Whirlingblades/Shieldcharge anyway. (Yes, SS also scales with Movementspeed, but MS boots are more expensive than boots without it)
Body Armour
Shavronne's Wrappings: You need this Chest - No exceptions! It's not possible to play RF as a CI character, therefor you need this chest to prevent Chaos damage from wrecking you. A 6-link is not needed at all, since there are only 4 damage support gems available for RF. You can also play with a 4-link and drop Increased Burning Damage.
Jewelry
Shavronne's Revelation: You don't need this item! in fact, you can't even use it with certain Acsendencies. See below for more Information. It's a pretty good ring for this build but also quite expensive, since it was exclusive to the Anarchy and Onslaught league and can currently only be found or chanced through Zana's map device and a pretty rare Divination Card. The Rest of your gear should be filled with Resistances, Flat ES, %ES, Int, missing Attributes and if you are playing the Trickster Ascendancy with Shavronne's Revelation, you also have to get +to Lighting or Cold damage to your attacks to proc Elemental Equilibrium.
Flasks
Vessel of Vinktar: There is absolutely no difference between the legacy and the current version of this Flask (Except for more Charges) - we don't leech anything, so the instant leech does not affect us. There are 4 different variants of this Flask, but it doesn't matter which one you get, since we only use this for the Shock around us. If you are playing the Trickster, a Vinktar with + Eledamage to attacks also allows you to proc Elemental Equilibrium with your Autoattacks/Whirling Blade, so you don't need that on your Ring/Amulet. Vinktar also Shocks yourself, so make sure to use a Grounding Flask after you use Vinktar. This Flask is not needed at all, but it's a nice boost to your damage. A Ruby Flask with increased AoE... Enough said. The Zealoth's Oath part doesn't do anything for us, because we already skilled ZO... It's still a nice option due to the 50% increased Flask Effect Duration though. The "of Dousing" Affix allows you to turn RF off, so always keep one with you for emergency situations! The reason why i choose a Stibnite Flask, is because it only uses 10 Charges and also blinds everything around you as a bonus. Onslaught is pretty usefull for Shieldcharge, since it scales with MS AND AS - Pretty much a waste of a Flask slot if you are using Whirling Blades though. Fill the rest of your Flask slots with Ruby Flasks. A Ruby basically serves as a healthpotion, since more maximum Fireresistance = less selfdamage from RF. Make sure to carry a Ruby Flask of Staunching at any given time to remove corrupting blood or other nasty bleeding effects!
Jewels
Energy From Within: No need for rare Jewels if you can get your hands on a bunch of these - 12% ES at top roll + it converts Life in ES in its radius. 2.5 Edit: Maxroll got nerfed to 6%, but they are still best in slot near the Melding/Quick Recovery Cluster. For other Jewel Slots, consider ES + Int + Damage Jewels or even Emperor's Mastery if you can afford it. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3. Bandits That's totally up to your personal prefference - The most safe pick is helping Oak for 1% Lifereg. Kraityns reward is pretty neat for some extra clearspeed aswell though. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4. Ascendancies Please note: After the nerf to Whirling Blades in 2.3 you may want to consider going for a Quicksilver Flask or Shieldcharge instead of WB for Guardian, Occultist and Scion. Since the radius of a skill gets rounded down, you usually want all the 4 AoE nodes at the Witch Area (at least with a level 19+ AoE gem) - Make sure to calculate what you need if you are planning on speccing into more AoE - more infos in the Math section. Keep in mind that you may or may not have to skill some extra dex for the Vertex or Strength for Blood magic/Vitality, depending on the rest of your gear. Drop a few level of Vitality, if you can't get enough Strength via gear. You can save 1 Point by ignoring Arcane Vision - your Blasphemy Curses will reveal nearby enemies anyway, but its still kinda annoying to play without it On certain Classes, you can always switch Purity of Lightning/Cold with Blasphemy + Flammability instead of using the Curse via Curse on hit - This costs more Gemslots + the Purity, but the clearspeed is much higher, since you don't need to cast Orb of Storms all the time. You can also switch Purity of Lightning with Arctic Armour, so you don't need a high leveled Enlighten Jewel Placement Quick overview: Damage = Topend Damage - Occultist has obviously the highest one, since she has lots of Curseeffectiveness and uses Vulnerability. Clear = Clearspeed - Trickster is the fastest, due to high amount of Attackspeed + Damage Maps = Mapmods that are easily runable - Guardian has the easiest time due to higher Reg + Resistances. Occultist has the hardest time because she relies on curses Tank = Tankyness - Guardian and Trickster with Shav's are the most tanky Classes due to high ES in addition to a reliable second layer of Defense Reg = Well... Lifereg My recommendation Trickster with Shav's (for Speedclearing Maps up to T15) or Guardian if you care about easy T16 or Shaper --> Trickster/Occultist --> Inquisitor --> Scion Scion is pretty bad after the Prophecy patch, because she can't make use of the last 2 Ascendancy points. After the nerf to Energy from Within, she sucks even more. Inquisitor has the lowest Defense of all Classes, and a very Gimmicky playstyle. His Damage is also only that high, if he is on Consecrated Ground. Keep in mind, that Curses do have 60-80% less effect against bosses, which means that Occultist is not as strong as you might think Ascendancies 4.1 Witch Occultist - Without Shavronne's Revelation
Spoiler
Overview •Does not require Shavronne's Revelation •Easier to cap resist due to another Purity + a rare Ring •Highest top end Damage •Reliable way to proc Elemental Overlord •Most Curse Effectiveness •Lower general clearspeed, since Elemental Weakness doesn't run on Blasphemy •Gem Sockets - You have to decide between Whirling Blades or more Vaal Disciplines/Golem •Low Whirling Blade attackspeed •Heavily invests in Curses, which makes Curse Immune Maps easier with other classes •Lowish Defense Gem Links

Be aware, that the Vertex also increases Enlightens level by 1, so your Enlighten needs to be 1 level lower. Passives Ascendancy Points: Ghost Dance - Shade Form - Walk the Aether - Patient Reaper last Entropy is also a good option for 2 points. 4.3 Shadow Trickster - With Shavronne's Revelation - No Grace
Spoiler
Only go for this if you are very well geared + high leveled! This setup allows for maximum ES, Damage and Clearspeed of all classes at the cost of a second layer of defense (Evasion + Enfeeble). I personally use my Trickster to run T16 Maps 24/7, and I reached the point where Grace is becoming kinda irrelevant, since it doesn't do much against the Guardians and even Rare enemies die pretty much instantly, so I decided to spec into more ES and damage instead to make the runs even faster. Keep in mind, that Grace + Enfeeble is A LOT of defense, so you better go with the Grace variant if you feel like you lack some defense. Gem Links

Passives Ascendancy Points: Augury of Penitence - Sanctify - Pious Path - Instruments of Virtue last --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 5. Enchantments
Gloves
As with most builds, Glove Enchantments are pretty gimmicky and not too usefull. There are a few ones, which can make a little bit of a difference though: Decree of Frost on Kill ---> One of the usefull ones. It creates projectiles around you which leave chilled ground as they travel (similar to Arctic Breath). Slowing enemies is always nice to have. Decree of Winter when Hit ---> Pretty much the same as above but better, since it only activates when you get hit. Decree of Light when you take a critical strike ---> The best one in my opinion - It creates consecrated ground, which equals to 4% increased Liferegeneration. The AoE is pretty small though.
Boots
Unlike the Glove Enchantments, the Enchantents for Boots are pretty good: Regenerate 1.5% of Life and Mana per second if you were Hit Recently ---> 1,5% Lifereg is PRETTY DARN GOOD for an RF build. If you have the patient to farm for this Enchantment, you should definitely go for it. 12% increased Attack and Cast Speed if you've Killed Recently ---> Pretty nice boost for your clearspeed if you are using Whirling Blades. 8% increased Movement Speed if you haven't been Hit Recently ---> That's the go to for Clearspeed if you are not using Whirling Blades. 8% Chance to Dodge if you've taken a Critical Strike Recently ---> Free Dodge is always nice to have - Escpecially for the Trickster, who already has a lot of Evasion. 6% chance to Dodge Spell Damage if you've taken Spell Damage Recently ---> Pretty much the same as above - And it's also always up when you need it.
Helmet
There is A LOT of farming (or luck) involved if you really want to get one of these, but they are definitely worth it: 12% increased Righteous Fire Radius ---> Best option IMO - more radius = more Clearspeed. 40% increased Righteous Fire Damage ---> That's ~5% more damage at my current state - not bad at all Increased Whirling Blades Attack Speed ---> Pretty solid boost for your Clearspeed. I would not take it over RF Radius though. x% Reduced Manareservation of xAura ---> This can allow you to drop a level of your Enlighten or respec a reservation node in the tree, which is pretty neat. x% Effect of xCurse ---> Curse Effect is pretty damn good. Especially the Enfeeble one, which will boost your survivability by a lot. x% Effect of xGolem ---> IF you are using a Golem (which i currently don't) it's definitely worth it. Double the amount of Lifereg granted by your Stone Golem (or damage on Flame Golem) is pretty huge. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Last edited by Yalani#3031 on Feb 7, 2022, 8:06:15 PM Last bumped on May 23, 2018, 7:14:22 AM

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 6. Pantheon Major God
Soul of Arakaali
5% reduced Damage taken from Damage Over Time 10% chance to Avoid Lightning Damage when Hit Capture Herald of Ashes 50% increased Recovery of Life and Energy Shield if you've stopped taking Damage Over Time Recently Capture Gnar, Eater of Carrion 30% reduced Effect of Shock on you Capture Shadow of the Vaal +25% Chaos Resistance against Damage Over Time The most obvoius choice, since it reduces the damage taken from RF by a small amount. The 50% increased ES recovery procs if you use a Flask of Dousing to turn RF off, which is really neat against Shapers Bullet Hell Phase or other hard bosses.
Soul of Solaris
% Physical Damage Reduction if there is only one nearby Enemy 20% chance to take 50% less Area Damage from Hits Capture Penitentiary Incarcerator 8% reduced Elemental Damage taken if you haven't been Hit Recently Capture Lady Stormflay Take no Extra Damage from Critical Strikes if you have taken a Critical Strike Recently Capture Suncaller Asha 50% chance to avoid Ailments from Critical Strikes Take this in maps with the Crit Chance/Multi Mod or bosses with hard hitting physical damage like the Chimera. The 8% reduced EleDamage taken also reduces the degen of RF, but only works really well on a high Evasion char (like the Trickster with Grace). I also recommend this God for people with a lowish ES pool, since 3-4 Critical hits in a row is probably gonna kill them instantly.
Soul of the Brine King
You cannot be Stunned if you've been Stunned or Blocked a Stunning Hit in the past 2 seconds Capture The Eroding One 30% increased Stun and Block Recovery Capture Champion of Frost You cannot be Frozen if you've been Frozen Recently Capture Fragment of Winter 50% reduced Effect of Chill on You Take this if you have problems with Stuns and can't afford the Presence of Chayula Amulet.
Soul of Lunaris
1% additional Physical Damage Reduction for each nearby Enemy, up to 8% 1% increased Movement Speed for each nearby Enemy, up to 8% Capture Arachnoxia 10% chance to avoid Projectile Damage Capture Master of the Blade 5% chance to Dodge Attacks and Spells if you've been Hit Recently Capture Lycius, Midnight's Howl Avoid Projectiles that have Chained Very situational - you can choose this God if you are well equipped and want to farm mid Tier Maps for the extra Movementspeed though. Minor God •Aberath - your usual pick •Garukhan - for some extra Clearspeed in mid Tier Maps •Gruthkul - against Chimera •Yugul - Against Shaper/Hydra (Shaper mostly deals Cold Damage) •Tukohama - depends on your playstyle. I am usually never stationary, since i always try tro proc EO with Shield Charge. The Lifereg is good against Shaper's Bullet Hell Phase though. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 7. •This is my usual Flask setup •A Flask of Dousing is pretty important here, since this will allow you to turn your RF off •You don't really need the anti-Curse Flask - You can use a Topaz Flask or a better Rubyflask instead •Make sure to bring a Healthpotion and Eye of Chayula or Lioneyes Paws with you •The trashmobs were not a problem for me, so I can't say much about that. •Make sure to only equip 1 Vaal Discipline while clearing the trash, since there won't be enough enemies to fill all 3 if you are unlucky - just equip them 1 by one until every VD is ready. Vaal •I changed my Amulet to Eye of Chayula during the double Vaal fight, since the Ball Lightning is able to perma stun me. You can do it without Chayula if you are carefull though. •I also had to turn off my Grace and use a lower level Vitality for this fight, since Chayula is lacking Str/Dex for them. •Enter the room and go to the bottom side - this will trigger only 1 of the 2 Vaals and delay the other one. •Use Vaal Discipline and Vinktar + Elemental Equilibrium until Vaal submerges. •Run to the other one and damage him until he submerges aswell •Dodge everything you can and damage both Vaals equally - don't let 1 of them enrage. •If one of them dies, use another Vaal Discipline and kill the other one ASAP. •Equip your Healthpotion and refill it while killing some trashmobs. •Equip your other Amulet again and use the Healthpotion, so you are able to use your Grace again, that you turned off before the fight. •Reequip your other Potion and proceed to fill your Vaal Disciplines Trio •The only real danger here is A'lai - the ranged one. Her Bladefall deals extremely high damage, so be carefull! •You might want to equip a rare Shield instead of RotP here, since you want to survive her burst - higher Liferegeneration won't do that much in this fight. •Focus on A'lai as much as you can - you can use all of your Vaal Disciplines for her, since you won't need them for the other 2 anyway. •Run if she is casting her Bladefall. You won't be able to survive this for more than a second, so make sure to play this as slow and carefull as possible. She is also the only boss in the game, that is able to kill you through your Vaal Discipline, so don't go full yolomode. •After A'lai is dead, back up to avoid the Desecrated Ground that she drops. •The rest of the fight is pretty easy - just kite the other 2 dudes around and refill your potions when needed. •Kill the Cyclone dude first, and finish off with Y'ara'az. •Refill your Vaal Disciplines and head to Atziri Atziri •Well, not much to say here, since this fight is purely based on your own skill. •Just dodge as much of her spells as possible - You can Tank 1 of her Flameblast and also some of her Stormcalls, so a few mistakes aren't the end of the world. •Ideally, you want to use your 3 Vaal Disciplines for her 3 Splitphases - you can pretty much facetank her Splitphase while everything is up. •If you are low on ES, use a Flask of Dousing to turn RF off and hide in a corner until your ES has recharged. •I recommend RotP for this fight, since she won't be able to oneshot you anyways and the additional Lifereg is pretty nice against her. Keep in mind, that I did Uber with the Trickster + Shav's Revelation. With other Classes, you probably want to get 3 Vaal Disciplines somehow. Atziri also reflects Curses that are not aurified with Blasphemy, so make sure to not use your Curse on Hit setup against her. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 8. Shaper
Spoiler
•Try to dodge as much as you can (oh really?!) •Don't even try to dodge the Vortexes - you can pretty much facetank them forever as a Guardian anyway •Pretty much everything in this fight deals cold damage, so make sure to use Purity of Ice and get a Sapphire Flask •If you want to kill him as a Trickster, switch Grace with Purity of Ice •Switch Enfeeble with Vulnerability - the only thing that can really kill you if you don't suck at dodging is his Golden Projectile is his Bullet Hell ability, in which case Enfeeble is useless because shaper is untargetable during this •Let Zana die as fast as possible during his portal phases - she will (hopefully) revive just in time to protect you from Shaper's Bullet Hell ability •If Zana is bitching around and you are on your own against his BH, hide in a corner, deactivate your RF and use your Sapphire and Sulphur Flask and you will probably survive - If your ES pool is still pretty low, you can also equip a Vaaldiscipline instead of your Clarity --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 9. The default values are the stats of my level 99 Trickster without Grace.
Damage Formula
Formula:(((L+ES)/2)*D)*CE*EO*EF
L = Life ES = EnergyShield D = Total increase of damage from equip/gems/passives (BurningDmg/ElementalDmg/FireDmg/AreaDmg/Damage over time - Spell Damage does NOT count) CE = Concentrated Effect Multiplier (1,59 at Level 20) EO = Elemental Overlord (1,4 Multiplier) EF = Elemental Focus (1,49 at Level 20) After this, you have to take Elemental Equilibrium, Vinktar, your Curses and enemies Elemental Resistance into Account
Regeneration Formula
Formula: (((L*0,9)+(ES*0,7))/ES)*(100-R)
L = Life ES = EnergyShield R = Maximum Fireresistance Example Life = 1500 EnergyShield = 12000 Max Fireres = 90% Life * 0,9 = 1350 Energyshield *0,7 = 8400 100 - Fireres = 10 1350+8400 = 9750 9750/12000 = 0,8125 0,8125 * 10 = 8,125 So in this example (Possible with decent gear at level 90-95) you will need ~8% lifereg to outreg the damage of RF
Radius
The radius of a skill is rounded down!
The base radius of RF is 14 - with 20% increased AoE from the Skilltree + 38% from a level 19 AoE Gem, the final radius will be 14 * 1,58 = 22,12 = 22 Only 1% AoE less will leave us with a radius of 21, since it doesn't follow the normal rounding rules, and rounds down instead 14 * 1,57 = 21,98 = 21 Keep that in mind when speccing into AoE via the skilltree, as a 5% AoE node might not do anything if you reach a certain threshold. Concentrated Effect stacks multiplicative with Increased AoE and follows normal rounding rules (at least from my observation) 20% AoE from the tree + 27% from AoE gem and 25% less from Conc Effect = 1,47 * 0,75 = 1,1025 --> this gets rounded down to 1,10 for 10% increased AoE. Now the same with a 29% AoE gem: 1,49 * 0,75 = 1,1175 --> rounded up to 1,12 for 12% increased AoE. At this points, just follow the first rule - Calculate the final radius and round down: 14 * 1,12 = 15,68 = 15 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 10. FAQ & Troubleshooting Troubleshooting "Why is there no skilltree for lower level chars/What do I have to skill first?"
Spoiler
There is no lower level skilltree, because it hardly depends on your class, gear and the level of your PoF - some people need more Liferegeneration, others need more Auraeffectiveness and if you are very well geared, you could also probably skill some more ES/Damage. If you are not entirely sure what you need, follow this rule of thumb: Zealot's Oath ---> Some basic reg and the more efficent ES nodes to get started ---> Auraeffect ---> more reg ---> more ES ---> Damagenodes "At which level does this build start to work?"
Spoiler
This also depends on your class and your gear - Well geared Exiles can start at level 65, others may need 1-5 additional level - Guardian is pretty much always able to start at 65. Don't expect anything too fancy at this level though, since you probably haven't skilled any damagenodes yet + this build scales really well with levels. "I'm not able to sustain RF - what am I doing wrong?"
Spoiler
•Do not skill any damagenodes and prioritize Auraeffect, Liferegeneration and ES first •Avoid any Life on your gear - the more life you have, the more reg you need, since RF burns for your ES AND Life but your regeneration is only based on your ES •Try using Ephemeral Edge as your weapon •Try using Shaper's Seed as your Amulet •Make sure to use at least 2 Energy from Within Jewels - 1 at the Melding cluster, the other one at Quick Recovery •Your Purity of Fire might need some additional level - level 23 via Vertex/Empower is ideal, a total of level 20 works aswell and a level 17 one might cause some trouble if your gear isn't good enough. Don't even try it with a level 16 or lower PoF if your other gear is crappy aswell :P •Auraeffectiveness is very important! It boosts your regeneration directly via Vitality and indirectly via Discipline due to a better ratio of Life to ES. It also increases your Maximum Fireresistance from Purity of Fire - a level 23 PoF will get 1% extra resistance with 20% Auraeffect, and level 20 with every 25% •Skill some extra Liferegeneration if you still have some points to spent - you are able to respec them in a few level •If it still does not work, try using the Stonegolem for extra regeneration "I followed every step above and I still can't sustain RF"
Spoiler
In this case, make sure to post your problem in this thread. There are a lot of people who had this problem, but there is ALWAYS a way to make it work. Make sure to include the following information in your post: •Current gear •Maximum Life •Maximum ES •Your skilltree "I can't get 155 Strength for Vitality"
Spoiler
A level 20 Vitality is not necessary, since it scales poorly with level anyway - you can leave it at ~level 15 if you can't get your STR via gear. "Am I able to change a few thing on the passivetree or is this the best it can get?"
Spoiler
I've played the build since almost 3 years, so I'd be surprised if you can find better pathing etc somewhere - make sure to alert me, if you find something though :). BUT the Skilltree is min-maxed around my own taste - most Classes do have high amount of excess Liferegeneration (about 2%+), which you don't really need to sustain RF - You can instead skill some additional Energyshield/Damagenodes if you like. Keep in mind though, that excess Regeneration really helps with Vulnerability/-Maxresistance/Less Regeneration Mapmods. I also recommend, that you follow the tree until AT LEAST level 75, which is where you should have all the Auranodes + a better ratio of Life to ES to respec a little bit of Regeneration. You also should not touch the passivetree, if your gear is bad and/or if your Purity of Fire is at a fairly low level. There are also some things for certain Classes, which are more or less dependend on your own taste - Occultist does not have to get all the Curse nodes and you can also respec the Whisper of Doom node, if you prefer to play with 2 Curses only. And for the Guardian, you can also spend some extra points into Armour nodes or get the Determination Aura if you like. Other frequently asked question "RF sucks, because it can't handle most Mapmods"
Spoiler
That's a myth! Most other builds can't run the following map mods, depending on the build: • Player can't Leech Mana/Life • Player cannot regenerate Mana/ES/Life • Elemental/Physical Reflect While you might have some troubles with certain mods like No Regen, Low Life RF can actually run most "LULULU RF CAN'T RUN THIS"-mods pretty easily - so lets have a look at some of them: • Vulnerability <-- No problem at all for any class due to excess regen on the tree • -Max Resistances <-- This mod got nerfed a few patches ago - Guardian can do this without any issues even with a rare Shield, Trickster can still outreg it with Patient Reaper and RoTP and all other classes can still run it with proper Flask + Vaal Discipline management. • Less Regeneration <-- Pretty much the same as -Max Resistance • No Regeneration <-- This mod got changed to apply to ES regeneration aswell, so Trickster with Shav's can't faceroll it anymore, but it is still doable if you just spam Rubies + Vaal Discipline and turn off RF if no Mobs are nearby. Guardian can also reach 100% Fireresistance with the Alchemy Cluster btw While I personally would not recommend running No Regen maps if your gear is bad or the map has some other crazy mods, all other mods are actually pretty easy to run - especially as a Guardian or Trickster. "Is this build able to kill Uber Atziri?"
Spoiler
I personally don't like this question, because beating Atziri is purely based on your own skill - pretty much every build can do Atziri/Uber if you are skilled enough.
Some builds just do have the advantage of being able to do errors and tank a few hits without dying instantly, and due to the high amount of ES, Resistances and Liferegeneration and Blasphemy Auras, this surely is one of them. I'd personally say, that the Guardian has the easiest time with Uber due to even higher Resistances and Regeneration. Blasphemy + Temporal Chain instead of Enfeeble really helps against the Trio btw :) "Do I need a level 4 Enlighten or a Level 21 Bloodmagic?"
Spoiler
No, you can use the Conqueror's Efficiecy Jewel (Act 2 Merciless Quest Reward) and a lower level Enlighten.
Some Classes don't even need a level 3 Enlighten. Make sure to use the Aura Calculator If you are not sure what you need. Keep in mind, that the Vertex gives +1 level to all socketed Gems, so you can use a Enlighten with 1 level less than stated. "Which Class do you recommend and why?"
Spoiler
I personally recommend the Classes with a RELIABLE second Defense mechanic - Trickster with Shav or the Guardian.
The Trickster is able to get a very good amount of Evasion, which synergizes very well with Blind from a Stibnite Flask and the Accuracy reduction from Enfeeble and the Guardian has a VERY high amount of Liferegeneration and a good chunk of Physical Mitigation. Trickster without Shavs Ring is able to use the Patient Reaper Mastery via the Ascendancy Tree, which provides a very nice boost to your Regeneration. It only works if you have killed something in the past 4 seconds though, so it is kinda unrealiable. A little bit of Evasion due to Vertex + Shadeform helps a bit against incoming damage, but not as much as the other Trickster version with Shavs's Revelation. Occultist is basically stacking Curse Effectiveness and is also able to use an additional Curse. Because of this, she has the highest damage output of all Classes and a fairly strong Enfeeble Aura aswell, but falls off in Curse Immunity maps and Bosses, which makes her quite unrealible aswell. Inquisitor is pretty gimmicky and Scion just sucks at the moment. "So... Guardian or Trickster?"
Spoiler
Depends on your goals you want to achieve. Reason to play Trickster with Shav's: •Faster leveling due to higher clearspeed •Better Survivability in Maps due to Grace + Enfeeble •Higher ES pool •Higher damage output •Can run several Vaal Disciplines Reason to play Guardian: •Safer mapping in -Maxres/Less Reg Maps •Can do Shaper pretty easily •Better Survivability against spellcasting Bosses •Can run a rare Shield even in -Maxres Maps "Am I able to use a Rare Shield instead of RotP?"
Spoiler
Yes, but you might limit your pool of Mapmods if you do so - I currently have ~3% excess Regeneration on my Trickster. With a Rare Shield, I basically have 0%, which might cause some trouble in Vulnerability/-Max Resistance/Less Regeneration maps, so I mostly stick to RotP anyway - Keep that in mind before you are buying an expensive Shield. The Guardian has easier access to a Rare Shield though, since he has 2% extra Fireresistance and a lot of Regeneration. "My Shavronne's Ring only has 3% instead of 4% ES Regeneration - is that a problem?"
Spoiler
As said above, the Skilltree has some excess Regeneration, so 1% extra reg doesn't really matter. If you are planning to use a Rare Shield instead of RotP, you might degenerate a little bit though. "Why no Pain Attunement - RF is a Spell, isn't it?"
Spoiler
RF itself is a Spell, yes. The Spell does not do any damage though - RF basically creates a Buff, which is the red circle around you and also the damaging aspect of the Spell. The Buff does not get any benefits from Spelldamage (or Pain Attunement) whatsoever, and we also don't use any other Spells except for Orb of Storms, so PA is pretty much a wasted Skillpoint. Buff effect (which currently is only obtainable by Ichimonji) works though. Since Ichimonji only increases the Buffeffect ON YOU, only the selfdegeneration part of RF will be increased, and not the part that deals damage to enemies. Only the following things will affect the damage of RF: -Fire Damage -Area Damage -Burning Damage -Generic Damage (Jewels for example) -Damage over Time -Elemental Damage "Why do you use Item Rarity/Quantity over Firepen as a 6th link?"
Spoiler
Fire Penetration requires a Hit to work - RF (and Damage over Time in general) are not considered Hits, and therefor Firepen won't do anything for us. In fact, there is not a single Supportgem (except those who I am already using) left, which works with RF. "How about Rapid Decay though?"
Spoiler
Rapid Decay requires the Duration Tag to work, which is what RF is missing. Spell Totem adds this to RF, which is why it works on RF-Totems. "Is this build Hardcore viable?"
Spoiler
If you have experience with an RF build, Hardcore itself(or if you are just a good player :P) AND if you have a decent budget to spent on this build, yes.
If you are fairly inexperienced with both or poor, i'd say no. I also recommend the Guardian or the Trickster with Shav's for Hardcore. Very curious on your defense and offensive stats. Anytime you would update the OP with a screenshot of those?
And maybe list some of the weakness it has on maybe different map mods and maybe a few pros and cons for using the build. I was initially thinking of going kaom's heart for an RF build but this could be good not sure of the difference on which is better though. |

" Yea, i will update the OP with some numbers and a gameplayvideo tomorrow or later this evening |

Good to know man looking forward to it :D

Added a gameplay video

Can that ring drop in Nemesis? I haven't found any on xyz, sadly.

Righteous Fire isn't "Ignite", so you can activate it while Rise of the Phoenix is equipped. And I can verify that, as my first [successful] character build was a RF/FP'r :P

" The ring was Anarchy/Onslaught only I will add some other ways to sustain the degeneration soon " Yea, i will edit the OP But unless you want to go with increased AOE and Con. effect, its still better to use it in the secondary itemslot, since you will have more sockets left for other stuff Last edited by Yalani#3031 on Nov 30, 2013, 4:46:36 AM

I love it! I have been trying to put together an RF build as well, but not in quite the same style as yours though definitely going to have a closer look and see what I can learn from yours.
