How to: 1-65 solo in 8H without serious gear investment

Well played, mate, well played.

I've never done this achievement myself but if I'd like to, I'll use that quide for sure^^

Man, it seems like river from about 57-65 takes longer than 1-57 for me. Not sure what I'm doing to make it so slow.

So how many Red Bulls and/or speed type drugs were you on and are you now in the hospital after you got to level 65 and then physically crashed? Can you actually go that fast with the current desync problems? This is impressive if his time estimates are true.

Necessity may be the mother of invention, but poor QoP in PoE is the father of frustration.

That's not fair and sounds more like Etup type of a person.

As for vombat911 -he is just a well dedicated player ^^

To each his own. I looked up this Etup player you referenced and ok, so he is in the top 1% of all PoE players and thus qualifies as a no-lifer elitist. So what? Vombat911 can solo to level 65 in less than a day. That's great and all and it's nice to get insight into how the top PoE players build their characters. The more I know the better I can play PoE and the better I can play the more fun I have. Just don't expect me to bow down and worship his PoE accomplishments.

This is true for any computer game. I play it when I'm having fun. When it ceases to be fun it's usually "game over man". I have noticed however, that PoE is one of the few titles (D2 and TQIT immediately come to mind) where when a build is dieing a lot (right now it's my Scion at Cruel Dominus) I'm not of the mindset that since I'm dieing and frustrated and the fun is gone right now that I'm throwing in the towel and quitting. Maybe at that instant I die again I quit for awhile but the way I play arpgs is such that I'm always wanting more so eventually (a few hours or days) I'm back in PoE playing to find a way to build a better character to defeat the current boss I'm stuck at. I do regret having stuck it out far too long with D3 before quitting (can't get those hours of my life back).

Anyway, thank you Vombat911 for sharing your methods for fast leveling. Much appreciated.

I like the without serious gear investment and you roll off 15 odd uniques and about 30 chaos in gems. :P

Well, didn't mean that. A no-lifer elitist sounds like a diagnosis and not in a good way.And Etup is a funny guy who lvls up just to reep again xD

True. I was kinda mad when my Scion died due dc and then mad again when support didn't do a thing to fix it (except "put a poker face on and talk nonsense").
But still, I am aboard that ship despite its flaws, dsyncs, RNG, bugs, absent-based-balance and trade-from-the-Mars.

I really don't know what keeps me in. Maybe that atmosphere (and some blood I've shared with the Wraeclast's sand) ^^

how is that without gear investment lol

Guess thats the main reason i dont die a single time on nemesis. You dont rly need it on softcore (cwdt also kinda expensive for new char), but it will boost your survivability very high.

I also guess you already had that gem, without it I doubt you could do it.

And sure it´s a quest reward but you only get it at the end of Merciless.

I have no idea what it costs, I doubt it's cheap though so "no serious gear investment" might not be quite accurate.
Nothing to see here.

I have been levelling characters to merc in a day using facebreakers.
Whatever your build is going to be, you can just punch your way through the earlier difficulties with ease.
Frenzy+melee splash and just one button your way through normal/cruel.
Many lewt.
Much desync.
Such rewarding.
Wow.
According to forum mods "sandwich" is considered an offensive word. Who knew?
