I think you should have made this 1 week hardcore solo turbo just to make this truly the epic end of the game. Personal opinion though.

It's not the end of the game, it's only just beginning.

I have to agree with this. Even if its top 20, only the people who can no-life it (no insult intended) will get the reward and everyone else will get nothing which kind of detracts from wanting to enter the race. Its kind of like "why bother".

For fun perhaps? And i mean its a race. why wouldn't who ever puts the most time be rewarded. what else would you want to reward? I am curious I have a few ideas id like to know what more casual players expect.

I'm not a casual player, but I'm also not an extreme player either. Its good to at least reward the players for trying.

Still, there should be a much more minimal reward for people who don't make it to ranks 20+. Maybe a random low level rare item or a crafting gem of some kind. A single gem really, nothing too big.

You sound like one of the people who caused kids to get trophies just for participating in a sport the days. Last time I checked, It was about competition. We didn't have that handout crap when I was a young kid.

planning on running a support witch or templar. 2 curses, totems, ect. ptherwise will go pure tank for team.

i work monday-wed 8am-4pm. I will play all night until 3am. I plan on putting in 90+ hours from thurs-sun for the final stretch.

I agree with more prizes than top 20, not for his reasons but for one huge one: the in game economy. It is going to completely collapse near the end because people will realize that they have no chance at top 20 and there are no consolation prizes. I have been worried about that ever since I saw the prize structure.

Edit: This means that the optimal way to play a solo 1 week race would probably be to camp fell shrine/waterfall cavern until 70-72 unless the RNG produced a very large number of maps.

To back up your statement, this is what I did. I ended up 69 in FSR with 2 maps. This is when I decided to group up with Nugi.

I would probably run Western/Caverns early in the day, and as fatigue sets in move to Fellshrine, just to minimize associated risk. Pretty much anyone can zombie mode Fellshrine.
