Jan 14: One-week HC Race
" Hasted, fleet, frenzied necros on maps in turbo for solo melee, it's epic. Except for the part where they teleport everything (including your view). :P |

I don't get it. It's January 10th but the race says it starts in 3 days (Jan 13th) minutes even though it says Jan 14th?

" Ah, thanks for the clarification. |

" The differnce in participation of the one and only turbo week long race and the last one week (probably will be even more in this final one) is rather huge
Spoiler
The one and only one week turbo had 515 alive at the end, and 1769 deaths (2284) according to http://poestatistics.com/events/1-week-turbo-hc/ the last one week had 4363 alive at the end, and 9160 deaths (13523) according to http://poestatistics.com/events/dec-24-one-week-hc-race/ I will say that is very impressive feat in the turbo race, Lv70 in just over a day and a half of play, turbo no less. I wish I could have raced, I was desyncing like mad, hp dropping to almost nothing from nothing, getting stun locked in the middle of no where, chests that would take 10s, 20s, almost a whole minute before server would sync properly and open. I think I died once trying to open a way point, with no mobs on screen, and hp just dropping. Oh well, maybe well get another some day. I'm happy the changed the xp rules of groups, I suppose if you was lucky enough, you could keep up or even beat them solo now. You cant really balance it though, a decent group will always clear acts faster then a solo, always be able to clear maps faster, just do everything faster. Now that we have several good groups forming up for these, well I don't count on getting lucky, I never do :P. |

" Pretty much this. Sadly it looks like Chris seems to be influenced by Kripp and his viewers because I hardly doubt Kripp would do good on Turbo(gives up-> loss of potential players donations/microtransactions), I saw his ES break on quiet easy maps in normal mode, such a thing meant instant death in Turbo. I barely made mistakes in Turbo 1 Week and even minor mistakes got me to 30-50% HP instantly. Turbo is a mode where big AoE damage doesn't count and CI really caution. Pam might be the only CI character that survived maps. I really wanted to try a build that would only work good on Turbo. All other CI characters died over time. Invalesco got killed on Ancient Pyramid. neizvrace on a CI unfriendly Crematorium map and Thirion got stuck between 2 frenzied Turbomerveils on the last day. " Ask Boomjuice where Phaserun got him the 1st or 2nd day. Phaserun was only used for movementspeed if the area was clear or as damage booster. Pretty much all players that usually are good on rushing failed on the Turborace because rushing and aquiring certain baseitems to alch didn't work there. Long term Turbo is quiet balanced because strategy is far more important than playing much or create most AoE damage. Iirc Deest and KarlRavanor were the only bow characters that made it into maps. " Fleet didn't seem to work on all mobs but rare move quickly necros with speed mods where morphing nightmares. "Oh you didn't clean up the mess behind you let's revive them all within 3 seconds" Kraityn was also a morphing nightmare with 3 frenzy charges. He was almost untargetable and we needed around 5 minutes to kill him. When I participated on a normal race during Turbomode and got back to Turbo I got to 50% HP the first map I did and was like:"WTF normal mode makes me play bad" " Compare how usually good racers did in last race and in Turbo. There are several names that simply died in Turbo before reaching even maps. Turbo is an incredible difficulty boost. |

" Yeah I can't argue that there was a lot of crapshoot about that turbo race at times. There are definitely still big benefits to playing in a party of course. In turbo it's probably magnified. I did somewhat carry another GS marauder in that race, he died at 57 (disconnect death). It was a lot easier when he was around, but he did slow me down a bit because of inexperience and well, you know, being a clone. Apart from advantages of partying, currency, gear luck, map luck is a huge factor. I only started doing maps in the last hours of that race and I ended up doing 4 or 5 64s (3 graveyards in a row) and a 65, I even gave someone a 64 +10q map at the end of the race. I would almost go as far as to take it relatively easy early, stack mf reasonably to optimize currency gain throughout the act progression and just throw all my currency at getting good maps and having as many maps as possible. Oh and phase run was a BIG reason why I enjoyed turbo. I had 6 attacks instead of 3 and I needed to use them properly. |

Looking for a team to play with during the 1 week race. I will be playing throughout the entire race (Have the week free) and will be playing 16+ hours a day and probably staying up for the first 2 days straight. I have all voice communications for gaming and a decent knowledge of this game. Message me if you're interested.
I'm interested in playing a couple builds, but will talk to you after you have messaged me. IGN: AuraMeThis

I too am looking for a team to potentially play with - I will be playing at the start of the race, and will be playing every single day. Most of my week is pretty free, depends on whether I hear about a few things that I MAY have coming up - but besides those few things, and some sleep - I'm free - especially for the final two day push.
I will be making a witch, focused on end game map clearing. I'm particularly interested in a group that is willing to maybe plan some stuff out in advance (nothing too crazy) - and farm/pool maps together. Must all be selfless people as we attempt to put ourselves in the top 20 - maximum of 5 players only (need that extra portal for maps incase someone has to get out quick) ~Prostasis |

" This is misleading. The 1 week, end of September, prior to the turbo had 548... http://poestatistics.com/events/1-week-hc-res-test/ There has been a huge influx of active players starting in early December from what I can tell. This issue with the turbo was people actually died, so the player base beyond normal was tiny (50 opposed to 125 from the prior). I'd be curious to see how many would play a turbo this time around. There are an awful lot more posters wanting turbo this time around too. |
