Dan's Scion
By speccing out of vaal pact you run into the same problem I think. Won't you be unable to run physical reflect maps as you would instant gib yourself to double reflect packs.
This build works in the new leagues because shavronne's wrappings is super cheap in nemesis as no one is really playing low life. It is only like 10 exalts for a 5 link one. I guess the only problem remains about how to do chaos damage maps without shavronne's revelation ring. Using a Ming's Heart and getting 75% chaos resistance is probably the only solution in the new leagues if you want to do a low life build. |

" I really don't see the problem to be honest. The movement speed and mobility of a build such as this is insane, so backtracking if needed goes very fast. I have about -35 chaos myself and it still takes a long time to die to degeneration in chaos damage maps. Knowing when to turn off blood rage helps as well (I keep my aura's in boots/helm so I can turn off blood rage by weapong swapping). Generally this is enough to backtrack and clear parts you missed. However, I mostly play solo or duo and take the stance that I rather roll a new map than go back and look for a handful of monsters remaining in a big map. If you play in a full group and insist on killing every single mob (OCD?) then yes degeneration could be an issue. Under normal circumstances it really isn't. You will run into problem with reflect, yes, but not as much as you're making it into. No, you won't instagib yourself. This build as is is an overkill against reflect. So by removing vaal pact it's not like you're taking on a heavy task. An extra granite or jade flask will make you immune to reflect 90% of the time.
US is also not as needed in team because of the present of your teammate. Getting stunned doesn't matter as much, most of the time you can't tell if you're getting stunned at all. Standard IGN: WTFNamesAllTaken.

" I'd like to point out that the whole stun thing is based on your playstyle and the kind of maps you're running. Sometimes, stuns are non-existent, and other times, stuns are what kill you. The way I play, I'd rather have immunity to something than have to worry about the small amount of cases in which the lack of immunity could kill me. Same reason I take vaal pact. I would say that vaal pact is in fact almost necessary for a build like this unless you are willing to forego low-life and simply go for something like 8k+ ES with CI, because to be honest, 20% energy shield per second is nothing if you're using life leech as a way to increase survivability, unless you have insane energy shield to work with. |

love bumblebutt's replies haha
this forum seems to be packed with some RICH players. I am a level 84 duelist with mediocre set up as of now. I tried to make this ST build, making it my primary character. However, I am poor. I am running 70-3 maps, trying to get higher level maps(avoiding temple boss only atm). Boom suggested me making a standard 2H ST scion ST build, then respec all the points to switch back to the build... and this sounds even more expensive than I imagined. Any suggestions on passives and gear suggestion? I currently only have about 6 exalts in stash but kinda thinking about investing in my duelist before starting this Scion build. Please give me suggestions! I really like this build :) |

" For someone with your level of funding, I'd say try to go for a max block aegis aurora build because, to be honest, that's a lot more cost-effective for simply being able to -survive- through endgame maps. My build isn't focussed solely on survivability, it also tries to do the damage of 3-4 people in a 6 man party (by foregoing a lot of defenses found in block-based builds). You're off to a great start with the items you have, and I'd suggest sticking to a nice dual wield or sword/axe + shield build until you manage to farm up the resources necessary to run a higher dps build. As it is right now, defensive items for hp-based builds don't cost anything at all. You -CAN- make an endgame build on a shoestring budget, but it just won't have very high dps caps. |

Can you make some more videos?
I like how there is a huge gap between Nemesis and Standard at the moment in terms of the cost of items. On Nemesis, this build is probably like 4x cheaper than any HP based build due to the extreme cost of HP items with physical damage and resists at this point of the league. No one in Nemesis has the balls to play a build like this and hence why you can find almost GG jewelry, belts, and boots for close to nothing. In addition, Shavronne's Wrappings and Crown of Eyes is super cheap there. So for everyone complaining how expensive this build is, this build is pretty cheap to get started in hardcore leagues, and the ONLY problem is finding a dagger. SIMPLY PUT, a dagger of 300 dps with crit does not exist in the new leagues yet. However, you do not need 40k dps to destroy maps. A relatively cheap 250 DPS dagger with 9+ crit will still yield an astonishing amount of DPS (25k) for a hardcore league. In addition, I find the difference between hardcore and standard players to be huge in terms of how they try to optimize builds. You can easily use the blood magic helm to do your auras and be able to run 2 60% auras and clarity on your life. Sure you have to recast your auras every map, but it is a lot easier to utilize the bug than to deal with half regen maps. Not to mention by running 5 auras, you can run wrath and shock stack mobs. Furthermore, SCION is not the best start for a hardcore version of this build as the ES is just not high enough. I am currently playing a lvl 87 version of this build in Nemesis as Low Life with a Marauder Build with 251% Increased ES. I am not going to release the spec, but this build is viable for Nemesis if you are good and can take advantage of all the optimizations. |

Oh please man, you gotta dupe that dagger and run dual strike with melee splash. I bet your DPS would be around close to 300k aoe

" Hope you don't feel like I'm hijacking your thread. Personally I'm a vaal pact guy. Just want to let people know there's an option for ES regen. In domination you can use blood dance and have up to 7% ES regen. ES leeching gives you max 20% ES per second, so that's a 27% regen, 26% if you discount for bloodrage degeneration. If you're not a roadrunner type of guy, it might not be as bad of an idea to look into. Standard IGN: WTFNamesAllTaken. Online everyday at 10 AM CST and at several different hours throughout the day.
