[1.0.4+] Sledgehammer Marauder Guide - GS+HS (including Videos)

Um is there another viable option to this onyx amulet? the 20% hp loss really hurts me x_x
Yes...you can take any LL amulett. But you wont be able to reach such a high LL roll with rares (afaik).

And the -% Life is not that bad. Its not -25% of total life, its calculated against the %Life from Passive Tree.

When I got the amulett I had about 4,3k life and only lost about 350 life.... not that bad

OK constructive as can be with no flaming.

I like the dps output, I like the idea behind a 2h marauder just thrashing everything with such high dmg per hit.

However, some things i just didnt like.

You use dbl strike single target ... you should use heavy strike. Its more dps, and it can stun even bosses, which is invaluable.

You use kongor yet take rt ... waste of points. IR ... waste of points. Blood drinker ... waste of points, carnage heart puts you at leech cap already. Way too many points in armor, imo. This build will never have enough armor, unless you go BM again and use grace / determination. I feel like with armor, you either get 15k+ or you just take a few points and leave it as is, and use a granite when needed. All those wasted points could all net you tons more hp. 4k is so-so for endgame on an hp build.

The way your health goes down so quick in villa and shore boss fights, and these maps dont have any damage-related mods, is scary to watch tho ... dunno if its the reflect, your playstyle, or just not enough hp / defenses.

I think the way you set up IC and EC on the same CWDT gem is wrong too, perhaps.

Thanks for your Feedback!
You are right, Kongor and rt are too much. I am playing without resolute technique, but forgot to mention it in the Guide.

Iam also currently testing an alternative route to Unweaving Stance.

Regarding the up/down of my health on the Villa/Shore map is because of the 50% Reg Mod. Its quite hard to handle but its viable. Villa has a really bad combo tho. Phys Reflect and Ele Relect (from hatred and added fire damage) in combination with 50% Reg mod was kind of hard.

Mind sharing? What is the ideal setup of Enduring Cry with Cast when Damage taken and Molten Armor/Immortal Call/Warlords
I am currently testing another variant.

Due to the quite high damage output, the lifeleech isnt fast enough, so I decided to test Vaal Pact at the cost of Iron Reflexes. I have also respeced the lifereg nodes and one 8% lifenode.

This is my current Tree:
"
http://www.pathofexile.com/passive-skill-tree/AAAAAgEAAdwB5wSzD8wS2RLhFCAUTRiRGS4Z6Ro4Gj4b-iECITQhVSXfJ-0otSo4KvYxnjIJNZI26DkOOtg7O0E_ROdGaUd-SshN2E3jUEdQUFHmVElYY1ivWfNfP2DEYSFlTWdYbEZuaW6qcmx4DXuMgW-DOITZh2qKr4x2jM-QVZBsnjyfy6IAouqkGaZXpmSnMKeEqWipbqlzqZSsqrQvtfK53b6KvqfAD8AawQTG2MmYypDSTdSP3D3eweSt51LsOO8O707vfPGs8i_z3fZI_o8=

I have lost ~1.5k armor and 100 life, but increased the damage ~1.2k and got an additional endurance charge.

Gem Setup also changed slightly:
Only 1 cwdt(1) linked with enduring cry(5), warlords mark(5) and decoy totem(8).
The second cwdt was removed to make place for devouring totem linked with faster casting (to get some lifereg).

I used immortal call before to handle phys reflect. But that is not necessary anymore due to vaal pact.
The 5 endurance charges with 100% uptime is another amazing def-boost.

As said before, I am currently testing the new setup and will update the guide for this second variant.
The first test showed that this is working quite well. I have tested map up to 77 with some nasty mods ;)

Using this build I am level 46 so far.

Went straight for RT and then north to Amplify.

Instead of going south from the Marauder start through Butchery to get to Unwavering Stance I just took the short path through strength nodes.

Now I am working up to Path of the Warrior. I have tons of life and good damage. I'm gonna refund and go through the damage nodes once I can stay above 3000hp.

The auto target of multi-strike makes Ground slam very deadly.

With just a 3-link ground slam (GS>Multi>melee physical) and 2 link Heavy strike Normal Dominus fell easily with my random assortment of crap leveling gear.

Hi,

you could gain 2% damage by taking the 12% node above the life regen in the duellist tree, then regret the 10% dmg below the 2x4 attack speed ;). And you could as well take the initial 15% dmg/12 life of the duellist and spec out a 10% node like the one on the right of Butchery.

If the witches watching watches watch the same watch while you watch which witch watches which watch, they switch watches; then, the watch switching witches watch which watch you watch.
Watching witches watch watches is not for the faint of heart...
