Race of the Day - a simple solution to race accessibility

I fully support this idea - assuming the issues others have raised are solved. Great way to extend the race to a wider player base.

One disadvantage is that a lot of the fun of the races is watching the top people unlock new areas and reach higher levels. This part of the fun would be completely lost, and that would be a shame.

i saw same topic on reddit today so i will bump and add my comments:

I think that most people at agree that the most popular races are the Endless Ledge and Decent Champion races.


So why not create a league instead? I would suggest the following for such league:

- Endless Ledge base (can not backtrack to lower level, no trading, no town, etc)

- Duration: 2-5 weeks, what ever would be most suitable.

- Resets: Each area level resets every 30min or every 60min randomly. This limits the amount time each player can spend on the league and keeps it more even for casual players vs. hardcore gamers.

- Prices for: Xpoints pr 10 levels cleared + most areas cleared, highest level toon or cleared the highest difficulty at the end of the race, etc.


Keep the info running in Global about the top 50 players on the highest difficulty and level.

This way its just a long race, but the time is not as important as the actual progression as your rewarded more for your progression and it will not give advantage to people who want to do the race on several accounts.

Gonna give this a bump in the hope this is what Chris was teasing in the news post a few weeks ago. It's been a while since any race news!

"We're deep in the preparation of Path of Exile's next set of race events. There will probably be some substantial changes to how these events are run and structured. We want to more clearly distinguish between races for competitive players vs casual racers who enjoy fun race modes. We will still be awarding Demigod and Alternate Art Unique prizes, of course."
