DonaldF's EK DANMAKU Ranger Extremely High DPS /Jan.14 little update [Videos]

Has anyone tried making a version that utilizes dual weapon block? The guide suggests it. What about using one or two Ungil's Guanch daggers to increase block chance? Would that still deal more dmg than the shield version? Maybe a happy medium?

Hello everyone!

With this gear+build I'm having no problems at all, clearing 73-78 maps (Solo or with full party doesn't matter really..). We even managed to 2-man Piety from Shrine Map (Level 77 Map) in a full group (4-man watching us kill it).

I hoped this answered few players on how powerful this build really is.

Kind regards,

Any advice on doing so?

Having gone through about the first 20-30 pages, i've not actually seen anyone done serious attempts at taking this into hardcore/nemesis so i'm not sure where to start making sure it's safe.

Comparatively, the two popular hardcore/nem ranger builds are ranged base probably for a reason so going with melee seems especially risky.

For Nemesis/Hardcore you will probably need to respec late game when shield build becomes viable.

I have a different take on this build that doesn't sacrifice damage output but still gives drastical survival benefits. I'm still working on it but my ranger keeps just under 20 000 armor as dps and can reach the coveted max crit chance. I also manage to avoid blood magic for higher damage.

The only thing that really stops my version from being hardcore/nemesis friendly is the desyncs that in rare cases can be dangerous. I am currently lvling a Scion to replace the ranger which will let me grab much more health and resists on the tree whilst keeping the same damage. This will allow for a much healthier gear focus for this build without every item having 3 high resist rolls.

I might make a new response here for Donald and the followers once my Scion is leveled to show a build/gear setup very viable for endgame as a few very obvious overpowered aspects of the current builds have been largely overlooked.

If you drop crit you can still be fairly viable with spectral throw but everything slows down and hard hitting encounters can violate you in tank mode as you won't outheal the damage with much slower attacks in a much longer encounter. You should however be able to just skip these situations.

Could you link your Scion's Skill Tree? (or something along the lines of what you are going to do)

I have a lvl 65 Scion in Standard built as a discharger, and I was thinking about respeccing her for this build, any advice from someone more experienced would be welcome :)
A little update to my nemesis build based on this one since I see many posts asking about a hardcore viable version. I am now 82 and have done Maps up to level 70 without any real problems. The LT boss on Promenade hurt quite a bit but if you're in a group you can just remove your cast on crit gem on the boss fight and be relatively safe. I can't do no regen nor blood magic mods but my group have problem with those as well so we just re-roll them. I managed to find an Alpha's Howl so I have my auras with +2 which allows me to run a very high level of Arctic Armour. Reflect does 0 damage to me. I plan on transitioning into Cyclone when I get a 6-linked Cloak of Defiance and link it with Cyclone - Cast on Crit - EK - EK - Life Leech - Mana Leech. Mana Leech might not be needed since I'm sitting at 210+ mana per second with my +2 to auras. However I figured that with the Mind over Matter built into the chest having both Life Leech and Mana Leech it would almost be like having two Life Leeches. If it's not needed I'll just go a third EK I guess. I plan on trying to use Arctic Armour with Empower and maybe +1/2 to cold gems in a dagger as well later.

4171 life
2600 mana
7646 armour
212 mana regen

I'm not happy with my daggers. When I go Cyclone I won't need the Double Strike links and will probably swap those for some defensive cast when damage taken setup. The Ice Nova is just for leveling.

My plans for future levels is to get the +2 melee weapon range when I go Cyclone and to obviously pick up the remaining crit nodes in the shadow/ranger areas.

Yes, i tried it and it works perfekt! The dmg is realy high and i have 75% blockchance with both deggers. Spectral thorw is much saver in hard 75+ maps but i still prefer cyclone with its desync benefits ;D ... just because i can use mind over metter with it. I dont spend any mana for skills - easy to play and it works like a shield also.

i`m not finished with this build yet, going to take golems blood and the life notes atm. but it works fine and should be able to run nemesis with it.

my grind gear atm:

i try to make a video in the next days to show you how good it work with only 52% critchance

-He's using the two dagger version clearing high level maps. Granted, he does have a real 6 link Evasion armour, but if survivability is not an issue using the two dagger version, I think it is the most powerful version out of the three.

Hi new player here, this build caught my eye.
Why are you leaving Double Strike at lvl 5? Probably a stupid question but there's a lot in this game to figure out!
how much DPS loss do you get by going from the 2 daggers spell+ gear, to the 2 ungil gauche block build?

like what % less damage?
