[SOLVED] Correct calculation of: %-Aura, reduced mana reservation, reduced mana gem

I think this is a perfectly fine place to put it. It's half-way between Gameplay Help, and Bug Reports, because we have no idea why the tooltip is rounding the way it is. Therefore, it goes in Gameplay Discussion, because it's discussing the game and doesn't exactly fit into either of those, because neither of those will necessarily give you the right answer.

Your calculation is correct, but the %'s are probably being rounded at each step or something. Being off by a listed 1% has little to no effect on the math.

Well, i want to know it exactly so that i can plan out my build accordingly and others might be interested as well.
A little effect of 1% is still 1%, which in my case actually matters. Thx for the input anyway. |

Guy on Reddit (called Vislike) seems to have created this awesome tool, very handy for working out aura percentages without much effort:

Therefore, if you have 506 mana, you would need a level 17 reduced mana gem as support along with 45% reduced mana reserved from the skill tree.
Alternatively you could use a level 20 reduced mana gem and only 42% reduced mana reserved from the skill tree, saving you a passive point. |

"Actually mechanics are *very* specific in application. So while there may be some implicit "he means this" you can't just assume so, and it's better to clarify. Because if he means he once thing, then if you assume its another thing shenanigans ensue.
