pabrt's Critical Mass Discharger 1.2 (molten strike coc)

This is my updated 1.2 passive tree (in op as well)

important changes: went to the left side for more crit & unwavering stance
took the revelry node by IR for 2 mana per hit, solves mana issues
life went down, crit/damage went up

also updated gear/gems
Spoiler

changes: switched to molten strike, switched auras to purities for max res (tentative)
new offhand because molten strike uses both weapons

would also benefit hugely from atziri's acuity, but that item is almost impossible to get, so...

Cool !
Thank you for the update. I am sure the molten strike build will be even more powerful now.
By the way, you do not use the flasks + magnate combo ? Or is the magnate no longer needed because of the crit frequency ?

Thanks !

Magnate was only necessary when crit chance was too low to keep flasks up without it. I had transitioned out of magnate even with double strike once I had enough crit. Molten strike generates way more crits making it so you should never need magnate again.

Also: my current build has a little too much weapon/dagger crit, since my main hand is actually overcapped on crit before power charges. I would drop some crit to get more life but I havent been able to find a good place to drop crit/get more life. If I had atziri's acuity it would make it a lot easier though, pointwise.

I'm also trying out warlord's mark since it allows spells to leech from it now. Not sure how useful it is since it's an unreliable leech source (curse immune mobs), but it still seems pretty good.

pabrt, you definitely should try poacher's mark and herald of ice...
How big of a benefit is herald of ice to this build in your experience? Whenever I try to buy one people are charging more than I'm willing to pay (since the price will probably go down over time)

Hey gz for this build seems good :P i have 3 question:

1)can u upgrade ur tree to lvl 100?

2)is this build atziri viable?

3)there is some better item upgrade to add?

IR converts your jade flask (and if you use it, grace aura) as well as eva gear into armor, which is then multiplied by the constant granite flask (and determination if you use it).

In the end you can get around 30k without grace/determination and 53k with. Without IR you can only get to around half that I believe. There's no reason to drop it because the twin terrors and revelry nodes are nearby and are very valuable (as is IR).

1. i just added life all over
other options are crit multi, another power charge, more elemental damage by witch etc.

2. It should be, ask intellect as he has cleared atziri using this build (I never tried her because I quit soon after sotv). I believe this build definitely has the potential to do atziri (and the potential to get better with some theorycrafting)

3. atziri's acuity is ridiculously strong for this build, as for cheaper upgrades I would upgrade weapons first since they can roll strong spell modifiers. With revelry the phys damage no longer matters, so it's possible to get a lot of modifiers now!

I should mention, that I almost completely reworked this build to kill Atziri.. Idea is still the same (double or molten strike + multistrike +life leech+CoC+discharge + whatever you want, I use firestorm, as I prefer double strike) but passive tree looks different (now it looks like this) and I use legacy Saffel's frame instead of dual wielding and purity of lightning\fire\ice auras to max out my resists (it was 100 before 1.2 patch, now it's only 98 :)). Here is video of my Apex of Sucrifice run (pre 1.2), if you are interested.
I still think that pabrt's original build is Atziri viable, but there are some issues. I tried to kill her couple of times, but without success. Vessel of Vaal is a joke, it dies to fast, trio can be deadly, if you kill them in wrong order (cyclone's guy bleeding effect runs out of control) but it's totally possible to kill them. And Atziri herself is a big problem :)
