[1.0.1 Build] Fisting to immortality! (22k dps, 82-84% all res, 90-100% phys, ALL maps, cheap!)
I'm using a more offensive variant with Frenzy as the main attack and some aura talents and getting nice damage while still having a ton of survivability. Farm Merciless Piety and Kole with ease and have been mapping up to 72 both solo and in groups.
Currently only at 3k hp (but all my skill points from 79 to 100 are going into life),7.9k armor, and 80 resist all. I'm running Hatred and Purity off mana with 177 mana remaining and 2% life and mana leech. DPS with a full frenzy stack up (6 charges, will be 7 after bandit respecs go live) is 25k when using Endurance Charge on Stun and over 30k with Added Fire instead. And my gems are not maxed, and multistrike is my only offensive 20Q gem so damage is going to go up a fair amount more with 20/20 Frenzy et al. Gear/gems: I use level 1 Lightning Warp for a movement skill because we can't leap slap without a weapon and haste/cyclone/guardian are just tagging along for gem xp right now. Bonus: between armor and endurance charges and because frenzy is many fast hits I can frenzy through physical reflect packs without danger. CoDT > Immortal Call is a back up, but many times I can rip through a physical reflect rare in a map without Immortal Call even proccing. Elemental reflect is also a non issue. Spoiler
Bringer of Rain: There is no substitute for how awesome this helmet is. Forgetting that it's a 7-link for just a few exalts, it gives us a huge amount of life and armor with Iron Reflexes, a huge amount of block chance, a ton of survivability using Blind (an incredibly undervalued gem), a ridiculous increase to our Facebreaker damage, and extra chances to get those valuable Endurance Charges. What could make it even better? How about the inside knowledge that if you equip a 6-slot piece of chest armor before you equip the bringer, the gems socketed into the chest armor will still gain experience? Amazing. Color it RRRR - this may take a few chromatics to get done, but it isn't too difficult.
Doesn't Saffell's makes you unable to block attacks? |

" Yes, that's why he talks about switching it with Lioneye's shield for hard physical hitters and using Saffell's only for hard magic. |
|
" I didn't read that anywhere, makes sense tho, thanks :) EDIT: And i just read that SPELL BLOCK can give you endurance charges, so its cool :D Last edited by VaurHalint#4952 on Nov 8, 2013, 1:30:56 PM

" 2 question about this part I'm so interested in doing your build since I cannot make one worth crap and died. But why did you give those passive points to shield blocking when the shield cannot block attack? I don't understand does it give some armor bonus? Also how come you didn't give any points to the 15% armor that the marauder can start at level 2 or touch or the very big health globe that has 8 hp nodes in it? " Did not know that. Another little known charge related fact........ frenzy charges give 4% extra evasion per charge, with Iron Reflexes you end up getting more armor with each frenzy charge as well as your damage reduction from endurance charges. |

Would you please add a gameplay vid? your build looks interesting.

There is another Facebreaker thread with a gameplay video around, usually see it on the first couple pages. It's a similar build, although less defensive I think. It does not pick up any endurance charges from the passive tree and uses an Aegis Aurora shield which restores your energy shield when you block. Other than that, the gameplay is pretty much the same. Wade into the enemies and start swinging.

Hi, I just read this thread and its very interesting. I want to follow this build for my old Marauder which has been reset due to the 1.0.0 update. I have seen that I really need a lot of um... expensive? :p gear. I already have a Facebreaker but it just have 800% inc damage.
Now, I was wondering what gear should I replace Bringer of Rain and Saffel until I can afford to have them? Thanks! Visit my Standard Shop - http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/891800

Such great questions, everyone! Keep them coming, and I'll keep answering!
Mayainverse- Trust me, the Bringer of Rain really does do what I say it does. I ducked into the Eternal Lab to do a numbers test for you, these are all from my tooltip DPS: " Trust me, there's what this build can do without a Bringer, and what it can do WITH one. The difference is unbelievable. I added screenshots to the initial post if you don't believe me. :) VaurHalint and Shunyata- Saffell's Frame does make it impossible for you to block attacks, but you don't need to block attacks when you have Immortal Call, 7 endurance charges, and granite flasks! I do have a Lioneye's Remorse that I keep around, but I don't have to use it, even on the most difficult bosses! The only time I've ever had to bust it out since I stopped using it was running Poorjoy's Asylum solo, which is only something a masochist would do. You will never run into a scenario like that anywhere else in the game, so it's a moot point. I use Saffell's Frame AT ALL TIMES, which is a big difference between this build and others. There is no need to block attacks if you can't take physical damage and you have 84% all resists. I promise. Robarian- We allocate passive points to shield block because of how they get converted into spell block. When you use Saffell's Frame, Rainbowstride, and take the 12% passive point on the skill tree, you allocate 152% of your block chance to spells - that means you need only a 49% chance to block attacks in order to have a 75% chance to block spells. We don't care about blocking attacks, since our shield makes that impossible - what we're trying to do here is max our spell block with as little investment in passive points as possible. We don't take those armor nodes in the Maruader start area because Immortal Call makes us invulnerable to physical damage, making armor pointless. The few armor nodes we take down in the duelist section are there to get us to other nodes, and to give us base survivability for when Immortal Call isn't active. They also enhance our Granite Flasks. Seradine- I'm planning to add some map videos when I get myself a capture program, stay tuned. :) Fenric- The Aegis Aurora shield is pretty cool, but it's expensive, and I don't find it to be more effective than my build. If you have the money to give it a shot, then it's an option! GodEye_Galatea- I know that the build may seem expensive from a ground floor perspective, but what it offers is the power and survivability of the MOST powerful and expensive endgame builds at a fraction of the cost. The only real cost to you will be the Bringer of Rain, everything else is very affordable. While you level and you don't have those items, the best replacement for Saffell's is a Crest of Perandus, which has to be one of the greatest items in Path of Exile. The 40% block chance, life, lightning resist, and life leech are pretty difficult to pass up. As for the Bringer...there's really no substitute. The only other possible way that this build could work would be with a 6L chest piece and an Abyssus helm, but that thing is so dangerous that I wouldn't want to run with it. At level 88, staying alive is more important than monster damage if you want to keep your experience. Ruby light of Songbird dreaming, Daring King of Swords deceiving, Queen of Sirens left in grieving, Star of Wraeclast evermore. Last edited by Xedralya#1253 on Nov 10, 2013, 2:29:38 PM
