Oro's Ceaseless Discharger (Spectral Throw + Cast on Crit Discharge)

So I tried quite a few new gem combinations. Here's the selection of gems to go along st/gmp/coc/ll/[gem]/[gem]

discharge
freezing pulse
fireball
arc
ice spear / elemental proliferation
cold snap
increased critical damage

Of those, discharge is undeniably the strongest. It's also most of the reason you explode on reflects. I found somewhat unexpectedly that swapping discharge for just about anything else makes me immune to spell reflects. Mostly because the damage is far worse. Arc is itself isnt that interesting except that when replacing discharge its amazing with berek's grip to keep your mana always full with 0 mana regen. If you dont put discharge then obviously all the other spells have 7 power charges permanently.

[fp/increased critical damage] works good.
[(swap gmp for lmp)/ice spear/elemental proliferation] to freeze everything. You can pretty much assume nothing will die from this, but awesome in groups.
[cold snap/arc] freezes everything your st touches. Arc is nice because it keeps your mana full as well as your power charges. Damage will be poor.
[fp/fireball] great on 75% lightning resist maps. Prepare your mana flask.

does the crit on hit work with fireblast? havent been able to test it out figured it might be a decent chain of explosions if it would work.
can someone tell me if this build works in DOMINATION? it requires legendaries that are not available here. Could we go for another gear instead? thx!
The only item you really need is voll's protector. The amulet would only increase your DPS somewhat but it's absolutely viable without it.

Started playing this at lvl 31 and i have to admit it was somewhat slow then. But I persisted and I'm lvl 60 now in this build. Playing in domination and using crap gear compared to what's described in this thread (4L RBGG voll's and my dagger only has 7.8 base crit chance and all crit chance passives are scaled to this number, so this number is the most important number of this build), but i'm still kicking butt. The clear speed of this toon is unbelievable and every few levels it gets a boost when you add another crit passive node.

Speaking of clear speed, being in a party of 6 hardly makes a difference in that regard. The more health the mobs have, the more discharges you'll be releasing so you don't even notice that the mobs have 6 times more HP as when you're playing solo.

What I also like is that on top of the insane clear speed and DPS, you also have ample room to put on items that increase IIR and IIQ so this build is also viable as an MF.

The only con so far is when you're in a party, some people will be complaining about lag, but imo they oughta upgrade their PC in stead of complaining.
So, I'm at lvl 37 atm, and since I already had a 6L Voll's for my CoC ranger, I decided to give this build a try. But my Voll's is GGGBBB, and I don't want to change that, cause it's what I use for my ranger :) Anyway, I decided to try this build without Eldritch Battery and Life Leech Gem, and Instead use a Thief's Torment Ring, and socket both Conc Effect and Increased Area effect since I have 1 extra blue compared to this build guide, and holy shit does it work. I don't know how this translates into the lategame, but at this low lvl, my mana just doesn't move, at all, same with life in most cases due to Thief's Torment awesome Life/Mana on hit. And I get the added benefit of having an Energy Shield, Plus I can run Haste, or Disc or whatever Aura I want atm.
Seems to me this should be a viable approach even in higher lvls, anyone tried it out?

Loving the build. Level 66 at the moment.

Two questions;

1) Do you have any tips for increasing single target DPS?

2) Does +lightning, cold, and fire damage effect discharge? And does it only effect the charge of that specific damage type?

Thanks a ton!
Awesome build! Been struggling a while because my Voll's refused (and still does) to get 5/6 linked and I was discharging manually. Then I saw Magyk79 posting in here that he is using a 4L Voll's, so I thought I should give that a try .. and boy did that make a difference.

I am now using a random 4L GGRB item with CoC, Life Leech, Discharge and Cyclone. Great feeling to whirl through a a map detonating everything in your path.

Multiple target damages is insane, but single targets can be hard at times. Like the poster above I would welcome ideas regarding this.

I removed Increased AOE (or what he has as Concentrated Effects) and put in Freezing Pulse. This causes both Discharge and Freezing Pulse to cast on crit and seems to be really great. Someone on Reddit suggested it to me. This was on a 5L GGGBB Voll's.

I have a question about the discipline aura gem being used, why? I mean you are using eldritch battery so the energy shield given by discipline goes directly to your mana but you are using the same mana pool to reserve discipline in the first place which makes it entirely useless to cast discipline in the first place since you wouldnt have extra reserved mana for that gem. Or am I not seeing something here?

Increased max mana from Discipline increases the mana regeneration, since it is based on max mana by a percentage.
