Yes but you gain clearing speed which translates into more item quantity, more experience gained, and minion survivability by killing faster. It's up to personal preference imo. Or you could invite a friend for the group bonuses and culling opportunity. :)

Also, regarding your setup, Remote Mine is definitely better than Incr. Burning Damage.


On another note, since yesterday's patch my specters no longer turn their aura off when zoning into Piety's room which is awesome. :) I guess it's a side effect of this change:

yeah the problem with remote mine is , i have a Armor / ES Chest.. and i dont want to spend alot of chroms on it :)

And i hate to place mines to summon my minions, without is pain in the ass enough :D

But why you think remote mine is better? the multiplier seems low to me.

Rejoice! Since patch 1.0.2c, the BM's aura does not deactivate when entering piety's room from Lunaris 3! I assume this is also the case for areas where are there are doors to other parts o the area (Thicket, Cemetery, Dungeon, and a bunch of other maps come to mind). However, the minion's auras do indeed disappear when entering a new area (e.g. Lunaris 2 -> Lunaris 3).

yep, only after loading the aura is deactivated otherwise it is still activ.

Wanted to share another gear/experience update.

I'm nearing level 82 on my summoner and loving it more than ever. Since patch 1.0.2, I decided to run maps as well since their area was buffed (implicit larger area size/maze). I'm really enjoying the gameplay, mixing it up between Piety and maps.

With ease, I clear 66-69 maps. Highest map I've done to date is Promenade (69) with no adverse mods (phys reflect and monster variety I think). In a few more levels, I'll try running 70+ maps. I'm confident I can do 72s with this character. I should be around 4k life at that point with MF gear.

Current Gear:


Note: Topaz Flask is just a placeholder for Divination Distillate. The evasion% is nice, stacks with granite's armour increase I believe. I'll swap this out for another health pot on high lvl maps or a chaos flask if I'm in Wharf or some area with alot of chaos damage dealing mobs.

I'll attach a picture of my stat page later, for now off the top of my head:
~3.7k life
~18k armour
~200/60 IIR/IIQ + 60/35 IIR/IIQ with arc (culling strike)

Still wondering, what is the most recommended 5th link for the spectres? Increased Area seems much less powerful compared to Minion Damage or Concentrated Effect. Or am I doing something wrong? ;)

My base is Spectre - Increased Burning - Minion Life - Minion Resistance.

Would it be possible to squeeze in tempest shield with determination and reduced mana? Would the tempest shield apply for the minions with the necro aegis?

I'm thinking of selling off this build, Whisper me in game if interested. Domination league.

Hi, I have a couple of questions:

I only currently am able to afford a 5L chest RBBBB. I'm using it for Burning Miscreation Spectres. My current setup is Spectre > Incr Burning > Incr AOE > Item Rarity > (Minion Life or Minion Elemental Resist). I have an Angelic Kite shield that gives 24% all resist as well as Purity that gives another 30% all resist. With that being said, is it better to use the final slot for Minion Life or is it better for it to be Minion Elemental Resist for max BM survivability?

My last question is, do the zombies and the Burning Miscreations have base elemental resist? If so, how much? Because if they do, the 24% + 30% from shield and Purity could already max them out, making Minion and Totem Elemental Resist gem completely pointless.

Currently 71 and have already solo'd Piety 3 times with zero drama. Also solo'd Kole but that was a little too close for comfort. I'll leave him alone from now on. Every Piety solo so far has dropped uniques even though I'm only sitting on about ~50% IIR and IIQ.

Yes it's really annoying but it's worth it if your minions rarely die.

Because "increased" damage stacks additively and "more" damage stacks multiplicatively, if you have 75% from Minion Damage support and 15% from Sidhebreath amulet and nothing from passives, your total damage is 190%, add Increased Burnin on top of that for +55%, total 245%. So the final benefit of the Increased Burning gem is:

2,45/1,9 = 1,29

So it's equivalent to 29% "more" damage in this setup, and Remote Mine has 45%+
As you add more Minion Damage ono your passive tree or gem quality, Increased Burning becomes even worse compared to Remote Mine.
