Regnar's dual wield sword ranger build, now with Blood Magic!

ok im at a point where i think this build isnt viable anymore....i seriously think about reroll ranged...im 77 and seem like i cant progres anymore.i have decent gear but cant manage to get my armor/dmg reduction up and each lvl it go down,cant get any upgrade for my weapon,cant find any 5L stuff and everything fucking hurt.

3k4 hp 80% all res -31% chaos resist 3k6 cleave 4k6 dual strike (without BR and frenzy charge) 5349 armor 32% dmg reduc 22% block chance.like i said my armor sux and im getting hurt badly.i keep using my granite and i still get hurt really bad from some monster.

i cant lvl anymore in dock,lunaris temple run give low exp and even there i still struggle because of those fucking mobs that put vulnerability curse.i got a flask for that but if i react 2 sec later im death.i did many maps 66 solo yesturday and manage to do 76 to 77 without dying but now i keep getting fucking maps with OP monster like flame golem everywhere,voidbreaker with multiple projectile mods,flicker spider etc.so in the end i make some exp,i die,lose all,back to 0% 1hrs lost.this build seem to have a BIG lack of defence and the spike dmg from those new mobs in act3 is do ridiculous that its next to impossible to survive some and dont forget the fucking dsync where you rubberband in a room full of mobs or every golem roll touch you even if your 10 feets away etc...

so what wrong?im i the only one with this prob?is it only my gear (cant seem to get any upgrade)?i really want to play this build since i love the gameplay but melee seem not possible at all unless you run a leap slam/lightning strike build and shit like that.i really start to not enjoy it anymore....i look around and want to cry when i see ranged everywhere not getting touch and destroy the whole screen and 1 hit.that ridiculous...


p.s:i should mabey run maps in grp but i have no friend to play with exept mabey 1 i play in grp time to time but i feel like the exp is bad as fuck in grp.

Hi, I'm currently lvl 45 running a variation of this build and there's just a few things I'm worried about.

1) Viability of Bloodrage + Blood magic

So blood magic is really good but I worry about the degen stacking from running both blood magic and blood rage. So I was considering whether running clarity with reduced mana cost while giving up blood magic would be a viable alternative.

2) Endgame/hardcore potential

So everyone seems to be talking about how ranged has an advantage over melee because you can kill mobs from a distance while remaining relatively safe while having more time to react to threatening mechanics eg. reflects, righteous fire etc

Also while this build deals a lot of damage it seems that it is still significantly less tanky than say strength focused marauder builds maximizing regen and endurance charges.

3) Managing life leech

So sometimes facing high damage output it seems that the life leech cannot keep up with the damage I receive, eg. packs with frenzy charges, large packs of blue caster mobs etc. A possible solution is vaal pact but then if I run bloodrage with vaal pact while not being able to use hp pots seems to be at odds with survivability all the same.

just like that,all your video are in a grp playing with other and from what i saw you just keep running around giving some hit time to time while your team mate kill the mobs.have you tried solo?iv done all the act/diff/maps solo and end game maps at hight lvl also and there a point where i feel this build dont keep up.it might be viable but you need some insane gear.my gear is half decent and its not enought.offcourse if i play in party i can make it work but most of the work is done by ranged behind us and vs hard hiting mobs you just run and wait for the ranged to kill them,just like you do.i dont say that to bash you, just to make you realize that saying its the best build and really strong end game can be wrong since more then half the work is done by your team behind you.try play only solo doing maps 66+ for few days and you will see.

blood rage+blood magic is viable if you have hight regen and hight chaos resist.you might only use blood rage at 70+.i wont use it with less the -30% chaos resist.im currently using it with -31% and my hp still drop even with 3.4% hp regen.just be carefull when you enconter mobs that do viper strike or thing like that.viper+blood rage will make you hp drop really fast and potion wont be able to keep up.between blood magic+skill you wont even notice when you use skill.the regen itself make your hp not even mouve and with life leech its way enought.

for HC im not sure i would recommande it.if you want a *melee like* character i would recommend you a leap slam/ground slam marauder.seem like one of the viable build for melee even if its still ranged skill...ceto build have hard time vs spike dmg.

for the life leech,blood drinker passive can help and use warlord mark on every monster.blood rage later also give lot of life leech.try to get some leech on gear but just with warlord mark+blood drinker is enought to begin.use granite flask when mobs hit and your life leech isnt enought.for vaal pact,never use it.this build rely on life regen a lot and you have 2 nods that give 1.5% life regen.vaal pact will make them useless,you skill will eat your hp,hp flask not working and blood rage will melt you.overall your life leech is enought to keep you alive exept vs spike dmg...

Yeah, I was already suspecting that the weakness of this build was against high-damage dealing mobs from my own experience and your comments have only confirmed my suspicions. It is because of the innate weakness of melee to "trade" damage without being able to complete "negate" it unless we are talking about a build that is able to vamp up evasion/dodge/block like crazy, and this is definitely not one of them.

i was currently trying to make it better by raising my block chance but i started after i completed the original ceto build so at lvl 75 and to get what i want i need 13 pts so lvl 88.i can reach 40% dual weild block chance and this will help for hight dmg monster and it will give time to my hp to fill up when i life leech.imo that will negate the bad side of this build but lvl 88 when im almost stuck at 77 right now....i could if i had a party to run maps all the time but i dont.i started a bow ranger and i will probably just farm with him and try to equip my melee with ridiculous gear and come back on my melee after.will see.



edit:well i started to run map in grp and im able to progress.i bought a new weapon and changed my amulet and it start to get a little better now.5k6 cleave 7k4 dual strike with aura/4 frenzy charge.cant wait to see a 5-6L cleave.only thing im afraid right now is my chance to hit...getting lower and lower....lvl 78 i have 67%.....since i outlvl maps i still dont really miss.i could take RT but 3 point away from it and my gear have good crit chance/crit multi so it still help to burst rare monster. here my new toy ^^

currently lvl 79 running maps in grps with some friends i just meet and its getting better.im more carefull,my dmg getting better,still bad armor since i dont find any good armor upgrade but...still manage to survive with granite.i started to up my block like i said,currently at 22%,next lvl 24% and 28% at 81.will be it 40% at 88.it definitly help so i recommand it.

my chance to hit still keep droping....im really worried about that .still dont miss.....currently at 67% chance to hit...not sure how i will solve that.i dont really want to go with RT and im not sure gear could give me enought to increase it...any tips on that for me?


edit:now 82,gear get better,made a SICK healm today and not dying at all anymore.chance to hit still low but saw it could be easyli fixed with some +accuracy on gear.currently have 28% chance to block and in 3 lvl,will have 36% and 40% at lvl 87 :) it help a lot so far.

wow that actualy an insane sword.hight speed and hight dmg but there only 1 probleme,its a elemental dmg sword.this mean your physical dmg will be low and your life leech will be weaker.i cant really tell you if it could work or no but it would be better to go with physical dmg sword if you want to make your life leech really really effective.

your actual weapon beat both of mine in dmg for sure but mine make my life leech working really good.you could find weapon just like yours but physical dmg based.like max atk speed+200+ physical dmg.just a little hard to get but still possible.

ceto i dont know if you have still looking at this thread but i would like to ask you 1 question.

how do you get that insane dps....im currently 84,soon 85 and my gear are not bad at all but im really really far from your dps....8k cleave(5link) and 9k8 dual strike.my weapon isnt the best but still decent,no atk speed glove.

are you using any special unique to jump your dps that hight?you was using the crit unique glove i think?any tips to increase my dps without losing to much of my defence?

im just wondering if its still possible to acheive that dps now since everything is stronger with act3 and we need to be cap resist all the time,need to put chaos resist also,no more diamond flask.my dfence is not bad currently but i just need tips to increase my dps....
