Why are Anger and Wrath even in the game?

Seriously. Assuming you are going to go through the trouble of running an aura, why would you use one of these? I can't run the numbers for every build ever, so I will just ask. Now that WED has gotten nerfed, is there ever going to be a situation where the % from Hatred is not going to be a better option?

Fast, low phys base DPS weapons might still prefer Wrath/Anger over Hatred I guess.

any elemental attack build would use one of them, it's completely OP with some passives.

There are builds in this game that use a weapon with a rather low physical component, but a high elemental one. Hope that answers your question.

For example, a wandslinger, that one is low physical damage, high attack speed, high crit, and will use wrath over hatred for better dps and to stack shock easier.

Also, any Elemental Hit build.

For instance: Voltaxic Rift



Using this weapon, you want to have as much Lightning damage as possible, to help you shock-stack enemies. In addition (though minor), lightning damage (through the conversion to Chaos damage) is never reflected while cold damage is. So I use Wrath instead of Hatred.

I got 20k DPS using dual ungils with wrath and anger. Wrath might be OP to be honest.

I'm running a LA ranger with a Lioneye's Glare and both wrath and anger gives more dps than hatred. I can see hatred being better if you have a 400+ phys dps 2hander though.

Interesting. The voltaxic example makes perfect sense to me, but I would have assumed that a pure phys like Lioneye would do better from Hatred, but I guess it is the LA conversion. I've never made an LA. Thanks very much for the info.
