Realyn's release EK Marauder build. Tanky as Hell! Level 20 gem/gear update!

Hi, I'm currently theorycrafting a very similar build. This is the current build.

http://www.pathofexile.com/passive-skill-tree/AAAAAgEBxthYY1BQjM_2SF8_VEnnUu8Oud3yL9SPGS7ZYVcNkc677Sft892sqlnzwBqQVaeEGjjsODrYLdJN2Ix2njyBbwSzAnEUTfAfZp760hcvZOdV1oCkcH2AVk99UWAdFI9G0NDPZVXGFm_SIZ7NpzD3vhQgUEcB55_LNuhkoxpVYSGE714TTioppd0N_MVnoId2Sn1Yr3gNqW618jWS_o9N46ZXMZ6I8axZNukkquNqGYUS4XTteu9gSwUtQKCeuaIAbqpKyCzpFSAqTT8ng9v8S85xbBY6UjJ-W6_DhueRrK_nY_4K8kU64Q==

The biggest change to this build is Iron grip. I think the bonus damage would apply to EK since it's stated before it's a projectile. And at endgame this will prolly give you around 80-90% extra damage.

Also taking Unwavering Stance since it's along the way. This this is good since you wont evade much with Iron reflexes.

You will also have shitton of life, 362% to be exact + alot of resists and block.

Note that you can switch this build around alot. You can drop alot of nodes to optimize another stat. Example drop life to get block. Or drop block for resist and life etc etc. You can also get the Scion projectile damage if you want.

I know this is a full out build but you can trim it down alot and still have most important stuff already at level 65. After 65 You would just fill it up with alot of hp and shield nodes.

So would appreciate your thoughts on this build.

(P.S. Spelldmg daggers viable aswell? Or do they lack a wanted prefix? Would be nice to be able to skip the viper strike swap :P aka lazy)
What do i need es, eva or armor?

Iron Grip grants a +% dmg bonus to Projectile Attacks or EK is a projectile/Spell and not an Attack, so Iron Grip does not affect EK. :/

By the way, what would be your scion's build Realyn? Loose survivability for more Dmg? Would be great if you could link a skilltree to compare with the marauder's one.

It would be the same except trading 5 life nodes for the 12,8,8,8 spell damage/6 cast speed nodes.

Like someone said Iron Grip is for physical projectiles like LA. EK is only a projectile. Blood Drinker doesn't work either.

Also, you spend 4 points to get 2,2,6 block and 10 str. That's 2.5 block/2.5 str per point. But you don't get 6 block for 2 points which would be 3 block per point. Reason? You saw the 6% block node and thought you _must_ have that one ;).

Noob question-

why get the endurance charge from bandit quest and the passive tree node? How do you generate endurance charges?
Enduring Cry. I can selfcast it and it's on "autocast".

Okay cool, I saw that after I posted in your skills.

I'm almost to 50 now ready for vaal in Cruel. Having a blast playing now that I've got EK/LL/added fire/blood magic all hooked up. Desperate for a 5L though becasue faster casting would be soooo awesome. Can't get lucky on a wand either. Really fun so far, thanks for the guide!
Hey buddy,
I just RIP'd my 50~ HS/GS Marauder in Nemesis and started a new one using your guide. So far I'm still leveling the normal way to 30~ with some leveling gear I have and Leap Slam, but my question is about the pros and cons of the EK tanky build when compared to the HS/GS one. From what I've been reading here almost throughout all the stages the EK has less DPS than GS and the Viper Strike is way lower than Heavy Strike; while still taking as many tanky nodes as the ones in this guide.
I may be completely wrong about the DPS part, but that's just what I've read and experienced so far with my characters.
So that's basically what I wanted to know; what do you win and what do you lose when using this EK build as opposed to the 'most common' marauder one.
Thanks for taking the time for writing the guide and GJ with your character stats and ranking in ladder so far. :)

I had similar thought, but I think dps gets silly for EK later stages and its also cooler looking ;) But yeah, up until level 35-40 for me I was using gs/hs without RT and it was still fine. But using EK is really fun for me right now, getting ready to fight vaal in cruel.
