NyanNyanNyanNyanNyan Level 70 Marauder Hardcore League I posted this in the Marauder section, and many people in game have told me to post it. http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/57213 for the thread. To sum things up, my character is a ground strike/heavy striking tanky mara with high HP and regen. It's basically your generic mara with a boost. Some key passives I get are... The hp nodes and regen nodes from two nearby classes, templars and duelists (though I get some unique skills from both areas, double totems from templar area, berserking and armour master from duelist). I am a blood magic user, going with the passive instead of dealing with the huge HP costs and wastedslot of using the gem. Yes I could add a few more auras that way, but I feel the downsides outweight the good for my build I use flame totem, gmp, iron will, and fire penetration with dual totems. I am in the process of switching out fire penetration for maybe LMP when I recolor some sockets and will use the combination I find more effective. In theory, since the flames are compact, the extra flames are always going to hit meaning the good outweights the lower base DPS per flame. With 520 STR, iron will boosts my flame totem DPS. I also have decoy totem. Sometimes I go with two decoys, sometimes a decoy and a flame, sometimes two flames. My ground slam is linked with culling strike, increased aoe, and melee physical damage My heavy strike is linked with culling, added fire, and melee physical. My auras are wrath and anger. I sometimes use Summon Spectre (currently working on recoloring my helm so it can have spectre/minion life) but I also link something like multi projectiles or fork or chain to my spectre to give it those added supports and stick to raising ranged attackers(who can stay alive a bit more, offer support damage, and gain the benefits of my auras) I know there is a flame totem templar, and a resolute technique/blood magic mara, but I've made a tanky version of both. My character is level 70 in hardcore, capable of soloing, being a good addition to parties (how many other chars in a party can just tank a Vaal firebomb point blank without a buff or chugging a granite flask) It's not a flashy build, in fact, it might be called a cookie cutter with a few intelligent boosts added to it. I go mainly for physical damage and percent life leechs, and fast hard hits. Culling strike has two uses for me. Added physical damage and the ability to kill ANYTHING with less than 10% health instantly for a very small reduced attack speed cost. I consider myself to have good DPS for hardcore, without having to go crazy on damage nodes, and it's a quite effective and versatile build. I can run in and ground slam a huge area repeatedly, i can rush in and start heavy striking bosses for big damage, stuns, knockbacks. I can use my totem to pull aggro away or to bunch enemies up, or I can sit far back and spam an endless supply of flame totems due to the fact that I can summon flame totems combined with three supports ENDLESSLY due to the fact that I am regening faster than their HP cost. So to sum things up, I am a tanky HP/regen/ground slamming/heavy striking/1h mace and shield, totem summoning Marauder who also sometimes summons spectres. No super rare uniques needed, |

Level 56 Witch Description: Area of Effect Ice Witch She is an ice witch that instead of focusing on critical hits like most cold casters, goes to get a lot of area of effect nodes and gems for massive area of effect damage, while also having cast speed and mana regeneration to deal constant and reliable damage. Her main skill is Ice Nova, used both by herself and a totem, enabling her to kill most enemies before they are able to get in range to attack. The totem uses a quality Ice Nova gem that is linked to a Increased Cast Speed and Increased Area of Effect, giving him 91% Increased AoE while also having 0.55 cast time. Other skills is the Frostbite curse linked to a Increased Area gem, that combined with the area of effect passives gives it 150% increased AoE. She also has a Concentrated Effect Cold Snap that when combined with Frostbite lets her freeze most enemies in a single hit. I generally use Clarity and Discipline auras, though sometimes I also need to run a Purity aura active for some maps and bosses. These auras have 87% increased AoE, making her very good for running maps with a party. *disclaimer* Currently my templar is level 70 and I changed up my passives a little since I posted this build. Took points out of the knockback passives. Though if selected please use some regrets to take some points out of health and grab them again as it is really amusing to use with flame totem.
Revised my Templar thanks to the recent passive reset. Also should note you can easily do the build with only 4 links. Flame totem can drop fire pen. You can also drop mana leech on Explosive Arrow and the only thing you need to do is run with one mana potion instead. Personally I'd rather use Increased AoE or chance to Ignite over mana leech but I was having a hard time rolling GGBBR. You could also use cull support or fast atttack support instead of mana leech, comes down to preference. Auras Used: Grace, Disc, Vitality, and Clarity Passive Tree:

Key Passives: Battery Inner Force Cluster Number of Totems Allowed Knockback Cluster Increased AoE passives Elemental Adaption Resolute Technique I'm a little low on defensive stats overall but I make up for this in two ways: #1 Knockback. Flame totem with Knockback makes it impossible for melee targets to reach me. A cool combo with Quill Rains 100% projectile speed, basically doubling the effective range of Flame Totem. #2 Bubbling Flasks. What damage I do take, mostly from range I heal up instantly. The build is not meant to tank damage, but to avoid and quickly recover and it works great. I also have 80% all resist across the board.
