Is this similar to Pastromy's guide? I'm having trouble on which one to follow, this one seems better for leveling purposes. I play nemesis

Pastromy's build has evolved since open beta, and has a ton of EA theory and build ideas in it (including pretty much this exact build).

This one is layed out a bit easier to read I guess.

The core of an EA build is pretty much 80 points.... the rest is up to the player.
This one makes best safest use of the spell, I haven't read through all of the 80+ pages of Pastromy's guide so I can't tell if there is a similar guide in all those pages. I do not really recommend this build for leveling though. The main purpose is endgame! Highest efficiency in lategame is all this build is about.

To be honest I could write a book about all the stuff ... ;)

Concentrated effect is A LOT better than Increased Burning damage as it will increase the damage of the Explosion (and then of course also the damage of the burning) by 69% lvl 20 compared to 59% damge increase for the burning only.

Reflect is 18%. Always. Except you meet a Reflect boss in a Reflect map. Then it's 18 + 18 = 36% Reflect. The Reflected damage gets mitigated partly by your fire resistance. So -Maximum Resistances is extremely dangerous as it can double the Reflect damage you take. The Reflect counts per monster. That means shooting 1 Monster will almost never be a problem, shooting a large pack will kill you.

And yes, there is a way to calculate the dps. Calculate how fast you shoot, how much dmg the initial Explosion does and then take a look at this Thread to calculate the Burning http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/55947 Then you have to calculate in Fire penetration / Elemental Equilbrium. It's a bit complicated and the dps you get is not 100% representative.

I mostly do it like this because of the Endurance Charges. Molten Shell is not that great anymore but I do not see a better choice.

I was considering willywonka's build and pastromy's build, i started pastromy's until i found this one. And spent a lot of respec points to get this one good.
Im a scion tho so 4 points are different for me.

Other than that this build seemed best for me after reading all 3 their guide.

I was also thinking the one from pastromy had been going since CB, but i think he hasted himself making the build for 1.0.0

just fyi the builds are next to identical^^
their only varies are ir"evasion vs armor based gear
and i dont see evasion paying off i think u can get way better armor pieces
+ ur gonna need alot of red sockets at least i do beside 1 4l for split arrow setup wich i use
ur runningt trouble if ur focsuing on high evasion gear

e/ but i like ur guide overall, a shame that u diddnt posted the rest of ur gear
i would have rly loved to see it

With the introduction to Purity of Fire I've been thinking of trying 3auras at a later date (purity of fire, purity of elements, grace in combination with IR) using a BM gem instead of something else in a 6l. I'm running my EA marauder as my IIQ/IIR character and any resists would be highly welcome for it due to andvarius.

Question to you guys with previous experience: Would a 6l BM gemmed EA work if you got a Kaoms heart or is the life usage just too high?

I'll have to calculate how much increased effect I'd need from the tree to push purity of fire above the next thresholds for more constant max fire resists. Alternative would be only use Purity of fire with BM aura node and reduced mana.
