Does weapon elemental damage help minions?
I'm a summoner and I use anger and wrath auras. If I support my minions with weapon elemental damage, will they do more damage? It's a bit ambiguous since they don't really use weapons.

No, that stat only applies to damage caused by your weapon.

" To expand on that a bit, I'm no expert on minions but from what I've read, passives that apply to you are only for you and your totems/trap/mines - not your minions. Minion related passives are the only passives which affect them. Also, the same can be said for Necromantic Aegis and shields - if you take shield passives, they don't help your minions out, because the passives affect your stats rather than directly modifying the shield's stats. Any modifiers on the shield itself should, however, apply to your minions. Former player moderator, valued poster, and early-adopter responsible for The Blood Dance.

You're misunderstanding, I mean the support gem, not the passive.

Ah. That, I do not know. My first guess would be no, weapon elemental damage support won't affect it. The reasoning for that is because minions aren't using weapons...although if you have a spectre which uses a weapon, it may. A dev may have to clarify that one.

I'm gonna say no; weapon elemental damage no longer applies to unarmed attacks for your character, so it is incredibly unlikely that it'd do anything for your minions.

I suspect it currently doesn't for the most part - it will for spectres/dominated of certain monster types (the ones which are explicitly told they have a type of weapon so they meet skill requirements). It should, in theory, happen for any monster which is visually holding a weapon - which includes summoned skeletons. That might be tricky to do, but I've made a note to look into this in more detail and get things tidied up to the best of my ability.
The problem is most monsters don't need a weapon type so mechanically are unarmed despite visually having a weapon in their hand. For now, don't count on it. Last edited by Mark_GGG on Oct 30, 2012, 5:16:07 PM

Thanks.

Is there an update on this matter?

" Yes, it was supposedly done in 2.0, haven't tested it yet. Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.
