Insanely hard to get the armor i need.
Your chance of chroming a 6-slot es torso to RRRRGG is about equal to your chance of winning the lottery. Youll probably have to settle with an es/armor torso, which wont have trouble rolling the RRRR and will eventually get the GG as well with a few chrome stacks.

"Last I heard, chromatic and fusing orbs use the exact same chances as normal drops. It's likely that drops appear to be more random because you see many more of them than you see results of orbs. With a larger sample pool, you're bound to see more odd results. Closed Beta/Alpha Tester back after a 10-year hiatus. First in the credits! Last edited by WhiteBoy#6717 on Oct 22, 2012, 10:26:45 AM

Rolling an off color on a socket is something like a 20% chance. Based off that, to get all 6 sockets to an off color, it'd be roughly 1:15,625. Not looking good. If it's a 25% chance to roll all off colors, it'd be 1:4,096, probably more accurate, but I really don't know.
Assuming it's a 25% to roll an off color, and you managed to roll all off colors, the chance that you rolled 2 green and 4 red is ~23.44%, so you'd need roughly 17,476 chromes to get the combination you want. This is all of course based off numbers I'm pulling out of thin air, I don't believe the devs have ever stated the chromatic odds. You're better off getting a STR/INT chest. This is not factoring the fact that the rolled socket colors cannot remain identical, if it's 6 blues, it has to switch colors on at least one socket when a chromatic is used, or it will reroll until it does. Rolling all of the respective color on a single stat armor is a pretty common occurrence, so it will lower the total orbs needed considerably. EDIT: Polished up my math. " Unavailable this is a pure Int item and it took me 500 chromes or so just to get my colour combination (3G isn't easy) however, while rolling, there were many times when i got 2R or 2G and various times when i got 3 non-blue colours. to get 4R 2G on a Str/Int isn't really that difficult considering you'll have 4 base item colours. If you want to get 4R and 2G on a pure int item though the chances are as good as nil. i'm not sure what the chance of each socket rolling a non-base colour would be but from experience the probability seems to be probably about 20-25% per non-base colour. Not all classes or builds are supposed to have an equal ability in any kind of playstyle, be it caster/melee/range. if that were the case they might as well get rid of the different classes and stick to one. There are differences for a reason, and those differences are to ensure that there is meaningful distinguishment between the various classes, causing you to have to make "meaningful choices". If you want to go for a non-classic build it is possible, but be prepared to make compromises. and in this case for instance, the compromise is the colours you can roll on your chestpiece. You'll have to deal with it, either by using a hybrid chestpiece like what has been suggested, or change your skillset around whatever colours you might be able to roll on a pure ES chestpiece. that's just some advice from me. Don't waste your chromes trying to get a 4R 2G on a pure ES chestpiece. I used a total of 1000 on it (had to change colours twice to let someone mirror it) and never once got less than 2 Blues. Also, this is a problem that isn't just faced by you alone. all non-meta builds face it. I do apologise if i sound abit harsh, but your asking GGG to fix this for you and saying that you hope this will happen because "Chris likes melee witches" is pretty self-centred and is bound to get you alot of hate if posted in the general section. The intended weighting of colours and all is intended. so are most other things in this game that differentiate one class/build from another. Just because some of those changes make it harder for you to play your build doesn't mean that they should change it. neither does it mean that you should give up on it. just compromise, make-do and find a solution. " I don't wish for them to change anything. i wish for them to add in another way for ANY class to be able to roll the armor they need as it is very important for every build. Your information on using 1000 chromes on one armor to never even get close to what i NEED for this build to work. I plan on using an armor/ES chest as i do not think that my chest piece would roll. That's the whole point of this thread. This thread was made to get input from others like you who have spent the time to try to roll something like i need. This isn't a big problem at all compared to everything GGG is doing but for them to read this and give me 3 sentences of feedback is not going to slow them down. i feel that a small new mechanic to allow non meta builds would be good for the game. I didn't want this to be where everyone tells me that the odds of rolling this armor is less than .001%. I know the odds are insanely low and wish to shed light on this and see who else wants to be able to make the armor they need. I should have mentioned that any ideas that could be EVENTUALLY made into the game to help these builds are welcome. I said that an orb that changes only one socket at a time would help and not be insane and change the current mechanics. you could make them rare and not have a high chance to change nothing at all like for my case 80% chance to stay blue 10% to turn green and 10% to turn red. Another orb I thought of was one that changes the base of the armor and only works on white items. Say you found a Zodiac Leather armor. the orb would reroll the armor to be around req lvl 65 armor (+ or - a lvl of the original) and never goes over 2 lvls away of the itemlevel of the original item (so stay between 63-66) this way one can roll the sockets they need easily and then use this to change it to the armor type they need. I understand that this probably wont even be addressed but if enough people agree to have something that allows non-meta armors to be easier to make then GGG would at least comment on this matter. I do not know which thread it was in, but one person suggested a rare orb that would copy the colors and socket layout, not links, from one piece and would put this combo on a piece of armour of your choosing. Destroying the.copied armour in the process.
This orb would have to be very rare, rarer than exalt, but less than mirror. The item which you would be pasting the colors onto would have to have the same amount of sockets as well. This topic has been discussed a lot, and it was the best suggestion I've seen |

" I love this idea. It is better than the ones i have made up with no forethought. I feel that the rarity would be a bit extreme but i believe the cost of the orb you are mentioning would not be worth 6gcp in the economy even if it is rarer than an exalted. Thank you for your input and it is good to know that others feel that this could be better. IGN:Sawnic

" Awesome. !vouch *I think it should be pretty rare though, otherwise it'll make chromatics obsolete. You could also restrict it to items of the same type (i.e. destroy a boot and apply to boot), or items with the same number of links between their sockets. I think that would make it costly enough. As is it's pretty much impossible to get something like the OP wants, and I don't think that's right. Last edited by hubb#1956 on Oct 23, 2012, 5:29:10 AM

To get no blue sockets on a 6s pure ES armor, you will need thousands upon thousands of chromes on average. It is completely not doable, I don't know if that's intended though.
Disregard witches, aquire currency.
