Insanely hard to get the armor i need.
I am attempting to make a full melee witch build. I use chaos inoculation, therefore I need my chest piece to be energy shield only. i have used many chromatic orbs to a chest that i have that would work well yet the chances of rolling my needs on an energy shield chest is unbelievably low. For my final chest i would need 6 links in an energy shield chest with four red and two green sockets. I was wondering if GGG could make a way to roll EACH socket one at a time with an orb ( chromatic or not) so that the availability of melee witch build be no where near expensive.
P.S. i know that it is possible to roll the armor i need but most of the time i roll my armor changes from all blue sockets to one green and the rest blue and returns to all blue again. closest i have rolled is one red and one green. IGN:Sawnic Last edited by Axis#0061 on Oct 21, 2012, 1:12:58 PM

energy shield armor has low chance to roll red sockets, let alone 4 of them, you just have to pay a lot for playing out of meta

four red AND two green. That is all six sockets to not be blue on an energy shield chest. I know Chris loves melee witches so I'm hoping that he will be able to do something to help them out. You may be right and that's what I pay for not going meta. I have all my skills so as soon as I have an armor that will work things will be going a lot better. I plan on using a strength armor until i build enough chromatics to get the sockets I need. I would enjoy just knowing the chance of the armor rolling what i need.

i know how you feel dude
i wanted today to make my dagger 2 reds 1 blue...after like 50 chrome orbs i just gave up,its easier to alch a random white linked item and maybe chaos it than trying to get colours some of my IGNs:

" So the socket colours for chromatic reforging is based on the item's base type? It isn't completely random? Basics of how to play (by Malice): tinyurl.com/72wrafn

It's based on the base item type, yes. strength items get red sockets easily. Int items blue, dex items gree, etc.
The hybrid has equal chance of getting both stat colours. The OP should forge on a STR/INT hybrid item, with armour and ES. That is the only way to get the sockets he wants. I do not believe it is possible to not have one blue socket on a six socket int item, unless it drops that way. Drops really do seem to have completely random socket colours, as I've often found 3 red 1 green on int items and other combinations that's completely unlikely to get when forging. " Thanks! Obviously I've not used chromatics before (hoarding tendencies). Yes, I was basing my question on drops. Seen far too many red/green-only socketed dropped wands as a witch. " Not to my knowledge. id love for GGG to comment on this. i would be interesting to know the % chance of the an int armor rolling what i need. IGN:Sawnic

Yes, that would be nice.
And it should go into this thread, I hope. Malice is practically writing a manual for PoE. Woah. Have posted this query there. Basics of how to play (by Malice): tinyurl.com/72wrafn
