I'm a little confused as to how using armorer's scraps or whetstones on an item helps in the process. Does it help with linking? does it help roll better affixes? If the latter is true, am I supposed to quality to 20 every time I use any orb on it? For example, I quality an item and transmute/alt it. RNGesus hates me so no rolls that I need. Quality again BEFORE the next alt/transmute? This seems a little tedious and very costly, even if those currency items are cheap. Has this method been confirmed by GGG or is it player superstition? Thanks.
