Oh hell no... there is no crafting is this palce... I once spent 400 alterations and ~30 regals to try and get decent rolls... after complete fail I swore to never 'CRAFT' in PoE again. Seriously what are they smoking out there in a 'place of bright ideas'... how duckd up u have to be to invent this Vegas Crafting System. This was the point when I went back to D3.

Every time I see people whine about wasting currency on crafting, I'm reminded how genius the economy in this game is.

More accurately it should be called a gambling system, I can't see how an RNG with diminishing odds is fairly called crafting.
We could have a big slot machine graphic, feed in orbs and and item then pull the one armed bandit and watch the dials spin.
Not sure if this is the right place to ask but i was wondering if there is a higher chance of a white item to have all prefix/suffix's when you alc it from a boss? Or does this not matter where the white came from and I just got lucky?
Also if I would have transmuted then regaled it, would it still have only 3 mods? These were my old gloves and this was the white that dropped and I alc'ed it just for fun off of mervils sister i think it was? guess i got new gloves! ~_~ Last edited by shankstas on Apr 13, 2013, 6:41:32 PM

" The upper limit for any spawning affix is determined by the itemlevel, which is passed on from the arealevel it dropped, with the anomaly that blue mobs add +1 and yellow and brown mobs add +2 to it. (So, there is a higher chance from bosses, but its very minor and it still did not prevent from spawning low affixes) invited by timer @ 10.12.2011

" Awesome, thanks for the confirmation. But at least for now its an upgrade for me :D
hey,
I really like the guide. but i don't really understand how prefix and suffix work every time. for example, I have this 2h: The ilevel is 13, so for the lightning dmg it should be somewhere between 1 and 14-15 (Buzzing). Even if I add the Humming category, I don't get over 20 max dmg. So my question is: why is the lightning dmg so high on this one?
" good question. No idea. that lightning damage mod can't be from the snapping category coz if it were the case, the required level on your driftwood maul would be 17 not 10. Plus the maximum roll on the snapping category is +23 anyway. only reason I can think of is that the lightning damage prefixes on the website aren't accurate. Either that or there's a bug with the crafting system. Gonna need a dev response. Build of the Week 14
