Saint Vitus: Physical crit ranger guide[Always Updated]

My ele bow maurader keeps finding great phys ranger gear.



THe boots are more suited for a ranger since my maurader has Blood Magic.
i also have Broadstroke unique quiver (+30% phys dmg).

guess i'm starting a Phys bow ranger :)

One question:
Why Frenzy instead of Burning Arrow? with high phys dmg bow, wouldnt burning arrow be better?

Well if you gone with the HC build you would have no use of that "can't miss" skill... and the fast/slow doesn't matter much with 7 frenzy charges - the difference is barely noticeable.. VictorDoom states in his guide too that APs doesn't matter - just high dmg... because you get high APs with frenzy

If I were you I would sell the Lioneye's for to someone who is willing to pay ridiculous amount of 30+ exalts and buy better gear/quality gems with the currency from it... You would get much more improvement that way than keeping the Lioneyes just for showing to people...

And about the 6L - the amount of currency you spent for it - around 13 exalts.. + the avg sale of the bow around 20 exalts = your minimal starting price if you want to sell it

I don't know where you get your currencies - i guess default is very different but for 74 lvl char that is waaaaaay too much..

I am 70 and my total worth is around 5 exalts or less

Average sale of LG on SC is about 35-40 for 5L :)

I'm not sure yet. Both bows I have are really really good, and I can't decide which to keep. I do get more reliable damage by not missing though. With my Thicket I'm at 80%+ accuracy only. Argh someone tell me!

Just tested. My Lioneye's does slightly more damage than my Thicket. The difference is not much though. Just that I can stick a Mana Leech/Reduced Mana on my 6th socket.

you also forget that this build doesnt take any passives to scale that cold damage up, so you will end up with just some flat cold damage, not very useful, id rather take the lioneyes.

Gear - Bought myself for 2.3 exalts the bow below it cost me all of my savings but I think it was worth it - DPS on frenzy jumped from 960smth to 1800+

Questions:

What can I do to fix the HP pool and anything basically to not get one shotted by Vaal's rocks/beam?

Get more life nodes wherever you can and seriously get some life on gear, you have life on like 3 peices of gear and even those have 40-50 life mods, of course you will be on low life if you have nothing to increase from your passives. Ditch the quiver and the cap if you must and get life mdos + resitance on them, armor needs to be replaces badly since you ahve no life on it and so on.

And you're using an amulet that is REDUCING your life already when you have barely any life on gear anyway.

Carnage heart is barely worth it with this build unless you cant find a crit ammi with life, mana/life leech. Life leech mods on amuelts can go to 6% now, so for the endgame a carnage isnt as good a crit amulet with life and leech+res.

PS: I try to respond with as much advice and question answering as i can, but some people are sometimes doing it for me and saving me time by doing that, thats why i dont always pop up here, ive also not logged in almost a week now since ive been away.

Honestly love my lioneye's Glare.

It makes playing the ranger enjoyable itself lol

Please critique my Physical Frenzy ranger build



Goal:
-Have all the Frenzy nodes
-Run Grace/Hatred/Purity/Reduced Mana combo

I will use Spell totem/Skels for meat shields, thus why i dont need that much HP (I hope).


Highlights:
+114% max life (too Glassy?)
+31% elemental resists
+32% attack speed
+73% Physical dmg
+43% projectile dmg
+225 Critical strike chance
+125% Critical strike multiplier

What do you think? Suggestions?

Is Iron Reflexes really that mandatory?

Armor is constantly said to be pretty much useless. Is Evasion not better?

No. Armor is good. The only problem with armor is mitigating big hits like vaals groundslam which you wont experience anyway because youre at range.

Evasion on the other hand is not as good because every time you dont evade an attack you will take the full hit, no mitigation, if you get unlucky and dont evade a few hits in a row you are dead.

That is why armor is better than evasion for this build, consistency basically.
