Started playing again for this new patch looking at all the new stuff I've missed pretty amazed. Keep up the great work, GGG.

Since I dont think that a full wipe on release have to be necesary, I do think that it is actualy necesary some type of ladder like Diablo II, there you have a year or two and then wipe and all of this over and over for more than 10 years and that was Okay, here maybe if they do not put a ladder, well maybe 2 more perma leagues or 2 long leagues of 1 year.
Not only because of the new players coming from Steam but because a lot of people enjoy a fresh start (like me), again I dont think that being extremist is the solution, for me the solution is trying to please the majority BUT not hurting anybody (I mean, for example, Diablo III please the majority but dont give a fuck about hardcore gamers, the heart of a game is the ppl who is with you since the beginning not matter if they are 2 in 10 or 1 in 10 or 1 in 100).
Regards!
A very well put point.
The leagues here are rather short compared to past ARPG games. I think that this is a preference design by the developers to get away from what happened in Diablo II where, after 2-3 months, you had a bunch of high level people tons of currency/items controlling the market for the rest of the long ladder season. It also provides a unique opportunity for them to test certain aspects of game-play within the ladder with no long term negative effects.
I cannot say if short ladders that roll into standard are the best way or not - but I don't harbor any real negative feelings toward them.
I don't think operating an additional set of leagues is the answer though. Imagine the extra work the dev team would have just to make them function. They would have to be different from the short leagues (or people would just play the long ones over the short ones) and I imagine that designing these leagues and their rules/items/mods/challenges/etc is not a small task for the "thinkers" and for the "key bangers" <read programmers>.
What I try to remember is that this game is in it's infancy. Diablo II sucked so hard at release and this game is absolutely amazing at it's release. It can only get better from here and I have faith that GGG is listening to the gamers (not only the supporting "hardcore" gamers as you so eloquently put it but the average gamers also) and will alter their product accordingly. The best thing that we can remember as patrons of this product is that it is impossible for GGG to keep us all happy and we have to, in some ways, make acceptances with aspects that we may not like.
EVERYTHING IS BETTER WHEN IT'S TACO-FLAVORED!

wtf i was shocked..
Why GGG ain't wiping standard and hardcore leagues on the release day ?? How this will look like for new players if they came to play and would find bunch of 85lvl players + screwed economy. Do a fresh start or else no FUN.
Therefore some new leagues m8. For fresh start...
...and those leagues will last only for 4 months. gg
worst call by devs I've ever seen.
This closed and open beta player for 1 and a half years disagrees with your
assessment.
Chris and GG would garner far more anger if they went back on their word.
IF you want a example of far worse sins go look up another Wilson, Jay Wilson.
Worst calls genius that guy is.
CliffH raved: maybe if half the mods Werent neckbearded, introverted middle aged men covered in a layer of cheeto dust, they would review the reports before smacking their over protruding forehead on the mute button. FUNNY!

Will there be an option to preload? It's annoying waiting for progress bars to fill while your friends are having fun on Skype. I'd get better internet if I could but I live in Aus which is basically a third world country.
Hey there.
If you want super fast loading times I recommend installing the game on a RAM-Disk.
It makes a part (you decide the size) of your RAM work as a hard-drive. I'm doing it and it is 10 times faster than even using Solid State Drive (SSD) like I did.
Here is a link to the one that IMO is the best vs fastest vs easiest one out there that is completely free to use:

Gotta play this again... Diablo is fine but I don't think it's even better than the first.
Is there any summon units on this? Sorry, 2 lazy to search and busy at work. =p

Skeletons, spectres, zombies and a metal golem which you build using gear on the floor. Totems is in a way a summon too.
EDIT: Not sure how close to Witch the metal golem will be.
If GGG chickens made an action RPG, what would it be called? Path of Eggxile, a Peck 'n' Slash RPG.
Why was the helmet spluttering? It was a coif. Last edited by Hyaon#5489 on Oct 11, 2013, 2:33:07 PM
