And the closeups slowdowns don't do the game much of a favor. The game has very nice graphics, but they're designed more or less for the camera distance the game plays at.

It works as as teaser for people already playing, but if this was the first thing I would have seen about the game, I wouldn't have looked further into it...

HAve to agree. it pales i ncomparison to Open Beta one. And it seems more like the previous class trailers. Should have named it "The Scion - Path of Exile" just like this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZycHZmvy2n0 .

I´ve seen so many fantastic trailers for real bad games, so I´m happy with this not so perfect trailer for a nearly perfect game! :-)

While this release trailer is okay, unfortunately I also have to say that it isn't as good as the open beta trailer. Although the open beta one was more of a gameplay trailer, whereas this one is more of a “cinematic style” trailer, so they cannot be compared directly.

Many of the zoomed in shots looked pretty good, but some of them put too much emphasis on the fact that the graphics were made to be viewed from farther away. The rigid, unnatural running animation gets too much attention. The game looks good, but this trailer doesn't do it justice, as a full release trailer that is.

My suggestion would be to demote this into a scion class trailer, and create another one similar to the open beta trailer to be the real release trailer, or, keep this one as is and create an additional gameplay trailer titled something like “Path of Exile Gameplay Trailer”.

(As a side note, the parts with Dominus (I presume it's him) talking down to the exile were really cool in the open beta trailer.)

Not quite sure about the Looks of the Scion in Terms of fitting into the PoE-World, but in the End I also have to go with that ;)

The new Trailer is nice, but the OB-Trailer really was absolutely great and did show much more of the Core Gaming of PoE. As we do not know if there will be another bigger Release Trailer at the Moment I think it is not a big Problem.
All in All the classical Marketing Part of the gaming Business is not what the great GGG-Guys are worrying Day for Night ... and we love them for the Way they're doing this.

Too bad I can't watch it. I refuse to remove a company like GT from my Adblock whitelist for anything. Why couldn't you host the vid the same way you've hosed every other vid you've released?
